Capítulo 53: An Encounter With An Archeologist

We remained on the island for a few more days after the celebratory feast before we left. Setting sail to the territories that were closest to G-1.

I wanted to make sure that the marines didn't pull anything while we were in conflict with each other. The residents of Falke were thanking us all the way till we got on the ship. We never really needed to ressupply because Stussy had already made the crew pack enough supplies for a long trip.

I got rid of the storm that had surrounded Falke Island before we left. Even in the distance, you could still see the residents waving at us in the distance. I wasn't completely satisfied with the outcome of events as there was still a young girl who died during the conflict. However, it was way better than having the entire village massacred and the island sunk.

We continued to sail through the sea. The world was getting more and more rowdy as time continued. We had met a countless number of pirate ships as we continued to sail. Many of them attacked us as soon as they saw us, I guess they wanted to be remembered in the seas or something.

However, that dream would be shattered as everytime we were attacked. We would eliminate the entire pirate crew and sink their ships. That was after we stole all their fresh food and supplies, we did this quite often. Also, the more ships that attacked us, the more gold we would get. It was just nothing but free loot at the end of the day.

There was one pirate crew that had given us some trouble on our journey. The Black Jack Pirates had brought along with them a rather excessive fleet of ships with them. The moment they spotted the Whitebeard Jolly Roger on our ship, they wasted no time attacking us.

They had a fleet of about 10 to 15 ships. I wasted no time grabbing my axe and chopping right through the first two ships nearby. The captain didn't seem to be anywhere near the two sunken ships. So I continued sinking ship after ship until I found the captain's, he was on the last ship within the fleet.

For some reason, this had pissed me off a bit. I mean a captain is supposed to lead his men into battle right? This man was cowering in the very back of the ship. His legs trembled as I approached him. He didn't seem to have anything to say, even before I was about to lop his head off with a swing of my axe. It was quite dissapointing.

Anyway, the journey towards the territories near the G-1 base took about five days. When we arrived on Cupshead Island. We could spot G-1 as a tiny island near the horizon from our position. It was a quiet town that didn't have much going on to attract the desires of some greedy pirates. However, there was a ship that was currently docked there.

Since it didn't have a Jolly Roger, I decided to ignore it, and pass it off as a merchant ship that was selling wares on land. Stussy quickly dragged me to the nearest clothing store to get me some new clothes. Ever since the battle with the marines, my trenchcoat was tattered and my pants had a lot of holes in them.

The small clothes shop on the island didn't have much clothes that someone like me could have worn. I was about 2 and a half meters in height. That wasn't a normal height that normal humans on the island were. However, we did manage to find a large dark-violet overcoat with a hoodie that I could wear. We had also found some pants that were roughly my size along with a white t-shirt that wasn't too small to fit me. I wore them in the store, and Stussy quickly handed my old clothes to the shop owner before telling the shop owner to burn them immediately.

Momentarily shocked by her hatred towards my previous clothing, I had almost missed a white-haired individual pass by the store hurriedly. I blinked twice before looking through the window at her again. 'Isn't that....Nico Olvia?' She had the same appearance that she had in the anime. Aside from having white hair and blue eyes, along with her tanned skin, I could barely differenciate her from her soon to be daughter: Nico Robin.

She seemed to be in a hurry to get back on the ship. When I looked back at what was following behind her, I saw a couple of marines quickly rushing over to her direction.

'That's weird, aren't they starting off hunting the archeologists a little too early?' I had thought to myself.

Curious, I decided to follow the two groups down to the docks. They didn't seem to notice that Stussy and I were following them up until they reached the docks.

The marines pointed their guns at the woman as they commanded her to freeze. The woman, who was powerless at the time, yelled out to the ship behind her. That was when a row of guns slowly started to emerge from the deck of the ship. They pointed their guns at the marines, who could only sweat as they noticed that they had been out gunned.

"By the orders of the World Government, the searching of Poneglyphs has been forbidden. Surrender Nico Olvia!" One marine shouted.

"No! Since when has it been a sin to explore the history of the world? What exactly are you hiding in order for that to be illegal?" Nico Olvia shouted back.

It seemed that the confrontation was going to escalate. It wouldn't be long until shots would be fired and this entire thing would be escalated to a whole new level. I decided to give Nico Olvia an olive branch by helping out.

"Since when did Marines learn that it was okay to step in Pops' territory like this? Do you guys really want to go to war with us that badly?" I asked them.

The marines had to turn their backs and look at me as I finished. They were about to retort something when they started to recognize who I was.

"That's- That's The Storm Dragon!!"

"What's he doing here?!?!"

"I told you that this was a bad idea!"

The Marines exclaimed after revealing my identity. My actions on Falke Island seemed to have remained fresh on their minds as they were all starting to back away slowly.

"Get lost, don't let me hear that you idiots are on our territory again." I warned them coldly.

I didn't feel like killing them off, if anything, scaring them away would prove as an excellent deterrent to prevent other low-in-rank forces from visiting Whitebeard's territories. They quickly ran off to their ship which seemed to be docked north of the island. Which was opposite from where we currently were standing.

The guns that were pointing at the marines slowly began to point at us. It seemed that the archeologists had no trust for us. Even though we managed to de-escalate the situation without shots being fired.

"Wha-What do you want from us, Storm Dragon!" One of the men on the ship asked.

"Shouldn't I be asking you guys that?" I quipped back at him.

Nico Olvia, who was taking deep breaths to calm herself down, finally recovered and urged the gunmen on the ship to lower their weapons. It was then that she faced me before she bowed her head in thanks.

'I guess some Japanese customs are still carried out here as well' I thought, remembering the time that the village leader had bowed his head in gratitude. Though I didn't mind it, the guesture felt kind of weird because I was never raised in such a culture. However, that didn't really matter anymore.

"What brings you to the New World, Nico Olvia?" I asked her. She froze when she had heard her name from me.

"How'd you know my name?" She asked nervously. She didn't know that the marines were mentioning her name while they were chasing her to the docks, not that it mattered much.

"The marines were saying you're name repeatedly, so I guessed that's your name." I replied.
