"Could it be that the wizard's bloodline is also mental?"
Hawkins recalled the wizards from Harry Potter, who seemed never to run out of magical power, suggesting perhaps the wizard bloodline mainly operates on a spiritual and mental level.
They harness infinite external energy into magical power through their spirit, thus casting spells.
Consequently, wizards might feel mentally exhausted after extensive magic use but don't face depletion of magical power.
Furthermore, the use of dark magic can corrupt the spirit, young wizards not trained in controlling their magic and mental stimuli can become disordered, and the strength of their will can sometimes enhance their magical power.
Some wizards transform into ghosts after death, and Voldemort's soul could inhabit animals and later recreate his body for resurrection. All these signs seem to support his theory.
He boldly hypothesized that the transformation of lower-class Saiyan warriors into Great Apes resulted from their inability to suppress the bloodline's inherent rage and destructive desires with their spirit, causing them to lose their sanity.
His own spirit overlay previously allowed him to retain a shred of rationality in his Great Ape state.
Now, the substantial spiritual enhancement from the wizard bloodline enabled him to maintain his sanity while transformed, much like the higher-class Saiyan warriors.
Of course, these were all speculations based on his understanding of the two bloodlines.
Whether or not this was actually the case, he wasn't sure, but as long as things seemed to be improving, why worry about the details?
"Cough, Professor Charles, that was just a joke earlier. I think your proposal was quite reasonable and worth considering."
At this moment, aboard the Quinjet, Nick Fury, watching Hawkins transform into a Great Ape again, awkwardly tried to backpedal.
Playing games? One moment a child, the next a Great Ape—how could such transformations be taken lightly? It made him think he had the upper hand.
On the other side, Captain Marvel, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, saw Hawkins transform again and couldn't help but frown.
She noticed something different this time: the Great Ape initially had blood-red, crazed eyes, like a monster bent only on combat and destruction. Now, the redness had dissipated, and its eyes, cunningly shifting, exuded a much more calculating presence.
This prevented her from immediately attacking.
"Maria, hold off for now."
Right then, her earpiece transmitted Nick Fury's voice.
It was Nick Fury asking to negotiate with Professor X, instructing her to temporarily halt her attacks on the Great Ape.
Meanwhile, Hawkins, pondering his next move, heard Professor X's voice in his ear: "Hawkins, how are you doing? Can you maintain your sanity?"
Due to the panel's privacy feature, Professor X couldn't read Hawkins' memories, but telepathic communication and other mental invasions were unaffected.
"Professor, I can control my current state now."
"That's good. Cease fighting for now. Just now, Nick Fury—"
Professor X relayed the content of his negotiation with Nick Fury to Hawkins.
After pondering briefly, Hawkins responded, "Alright, but Professor, given the recent events, we can't fully trust them to keep their word. We need to do this and that..."
Nick Fury, as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., wasn't known for his principles or integrity. His willingness was driven by circumstance, and if the situation changed, negotiations could collapse at any moment—for example, if Fury learned of Hawkins' real strength and the temporality of his transformations.
"It's best to fully control the situation to avoid future troubles," Hawkins suggested.
"Okay, let's do as you suggested. I'll get him to come out for a face-to-face discussion, and I'll stall him to buy you time," Professor X agreed after a moment's thought.
His recent observations of Nick Fury had also diminished his trust in the head of this CIA-like organization.
"I guess we don't need to fight now."
Hawkins, looking at Captain Marvel across from him, made an effort to suppress his Saiyan instincts, and his body quickly shrank back into a child's form.
"You're right, kid. But I suggest you put on some clothes."
Captain Marvel landed in front of Hawkins, chuckling as she eyed the entirely naked Hawkins.
Switching his wand to his left hand, Hawkins quickly picked up a piece of his shredded wizard robe from the ground and wrapped it around his waist. His wizard robe had burst during the transformation, and now that he was back to normal, he had no clothes.
As the X-Jet and the Quinjet landed nearby, both crafts' doors opened. Professor X led the mutants, and Nick Fury led Captain Carter and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents out almost simultaneously.
"I need to go inside and find some clothes, but if there's going to be a fight, I can stay ready to transform again," Hawkins joked, pointing towards the X-Jet.
"I think our interactions will be very peaceful!"
Listening to Hawkins' half-threatening joke, Nick Fury tried to maintain a friendly demeanor, now classifying this mutant boy as a high-threat level, comparable even to Professor X and Magneto. Just considering his destructive capability, he was perhaps even more dangerous.
"If it's just a misunderstanding, clearing it up will do. Go ahead and change, Hawkins."
Professor X also played along with a smile.
"That would be best."
Hawkins nodded and then turned towards the X-Jet.
"Reparo!"
Once aboard, he quickly cast a spell to restore his wizard robe to its original state, then swiftly mounted the Firebolt and donned the invisibility cloak before carefully flying out again.
His wizard robe had burst during the transformation, but he had kept the Firebolt, invisibility cloak, and wand well-protected in his hands.
Going inside to change was just a convenient excuse to momentarily leave the scene.
Covered entirely by the large invisibility cloak, Hawkins rode the Firebolt cautiously around the negotiating and confronting parties, then quietly approached the Quinjet's hatch.
Skillfully maneuvering the Firebolt inside the Quinjet, he quickly located Magneto and Mystique, who had been knocked out by anesthetic.
"Petrificus Totalus! Petrificus Totalus!"
With lightning-fast twin full-body-bind curses, he immobilized the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents guarding Magneto and Mystique, then aimed his wand at the two mutants.
"Rennervate!"
A revival charm, a spell that instantly awakens anyone, regardless of their state.
"Good evening, we meet again!"
As Magneto and Mystique opened their eyes, they saw Hawkins' smiling face floating in the air, almost thinking they had seen a ghost.
After briefly understanding the situation, Magneto looked at Hawkins and said, "Kid, I owe you one."
