Capítulo 58: Chapter 12: Part 2 - Late for Work
I woke up to soft hands shaking my shoulder.
"Hey, Chris, it's already 6:30 am, don't you need to get up?" Sarah's voice enquired.
I immediately sat up and wiped the sleep from my eyes. I had barely gotten 2 hours of sleep since I spent a good portion of the night verifying her claims.
"I think I might just call in sick today, I'm exhausted" I replied.
"Oh? But you always go to work, even when you're exhausted" Sarah said, looking at me perplexed.
I smiled at her and pinched her cheek "You only started living with me a few months ago, how do you know whether I take off days or not, hmmm? Let me sleep kitten" I teased and rolled over and went back to sleep.
After a few minutes, I felt myself getting shaken by the shoulder.
"W-whaat" I mumbled in the sheets.
"At least send in a notification of absence, you can't just not turn up to work with no reason given," Sarah said, sounding flustered.
"Alright pass me my phone" I groaned, and I felt my phone smack my hand.
"Oi!" I said and sat up, rubbing my hand "Why did you throw it?" I asked and looked at Sarah, who looked like she was fuming.
"I don't know, maybe because you seem to take things really easily. Your work, your life, it's like nothing matters to you, how lucky you are to feel nothing –" Sarah started rambling angrily.
"Sarah, Sarah. Sarah calm down. Sit down and tell me what's wrong" I said and scooted a little bit into the bed, patting the space beside me for her to sit down.
Sarah scrunched up her face as if she was going to refuse to sit down and instead continue with her rant, then she relented and she climbed onto the bed and sank dramatically into the pillows with a loud sigh, crossing her arms and her legs as she did it.
"Alright, get your thoughts together while I text that I'll be working from home today," I said as I picked up my phone and opened my work attendance app.
"You can work from home?" Sarah asked, sitting up, her anger fading away and replaced by curiosity. How could she accuse me of taking things easy when she couldn't seem to hold on to a proper emotion for more than five minutes? Her attention span was truly like that of a goldfish.
"Yes, thankfully today's duties are menu planning and R&D for next month's Dinner Gala so I'll be working on my laptop for most of the day" I explained as I settled my attendance and registered myself as "work from home" for that day. The system automatically approved and I turned off my phone and turned to Sarah "So, care to explain why you are so testy this morning?"
Sarah leaned back and crossed her arms again.
"We nenohtironeg…" Sarah mumbled under her breath.
"What was that? I couldn't quite hear you" I said, leaning forward to try to hear her better.
"We didn't have sex, alright? I woke up in my own bed again. Am I that repulsive to you?" She asked, pouting and looking away from me.
"Well, no, you are obviously not repulsive to me. The problem is, this entire time, you've been expecting me to just have sex with you like it's a pastime that I engage in like sewing or brewing artisanal beer. You never once asked me what it takes for me, to agree to have sex with you" I replied.
Sarah perked up again and uncrossed her arms, leaning forward " Oh! I'm so sorry, what does it take for you to agree to have sex with me? I'll try my best to do it or get it for you if it's something I need to buy" She said and smiled brightly.
I gave her a half smile " Are you sure you want to know? It's going to be really hard, and you already told me yesterday that you have never done it before, so I don't think you are up to the task".
Sarah shook her head "Whatever it is, I will try. This is for my future partners and future relationships, so I've got to".
I shrugged and crossed my arms "Alright, but you're not going to like the answer. If you really want to know, I'll tell you what it takes to have sex with me"
