Capítulo 4: Chapter 4 Causing Trouble in the Ruined Temple

However, at the very next second, a heavy kick struck the back of his head, sending Wang Dalai flying forward a good ten-plus meters.

"A'niu!"

Tian Mei, seeing that it was A'niu who had hit Wang Dalai, hurriedly dropped her skirt.

"You son of a bitch, how dare you take advantage of my absence to force yourself on my aunt? Did you think I was dead?" A'niu said through gritted teeth as he cursed at Wang Dalai.

"Motherfucker, I thought it was who knows who, turns out it's you, the idiot! Tired of living, aren't you!"

Wang Dalai got up with a grim face, but his head felt as if it was filled with lead, heavy and dizzy, unable to stand steadily. He hadn't expected A'niu to have such strength, kicking him so hard he felt like he had a concussion.

Seeing this, Tian Mei quickly stood up and grabbed A'niu, "A'niu, let it go. We still have to live in Peach Blossom Village in the future. His uncle is Li Dahai, we can't afford to offend him."

"Auntie, don't worry, today I must teach this beast a lesson," A'niu insisted.

A'niu knew today was different from before. If he didn't take down Wang Dalai today, he feared he'd become emboldened to bully Tian Mei day after day.

Wang Dalai's head was a mess, staggering while leaning on the courtyard wall as he made his way to the gate, swearing under his breath, "Just you wait, Tian Mei, just you wait, A'niu. I won't let this go so easily."

"Say that one more time if you dare!" A'niu raised his hand, pointing at Wang Dalai, who shivered in fright and, clutching his head, ran off like a shot.

A'niu wanted to chase after him but Tian Mei hurriedly held him back, gently saying, "Forget it, A'niu, just endure it. If the villagers find out, your aunt will lose all face."

Of course, A'niu knew that, but he couldn't help feeling sick to his stomach without venting.

"Auntie, are you alright?" A'niu asked, concerned, holding Tian Mei's soft white hand.

"I'm fine. It's getting late, you should hurry back to your room and sleep," Tian Mei said, her face flushing as she withdrew her hand. But A'niu's grip tightened.

"Auntie, tonight I want to be with you..." A'niu started, looking at Tian Mei's blush-tinged cheeks, a heat rising in him.

Tian Mei felt something hard pressing against her, and a shock went through her. She pushed A'niu away forcefully, her eyes instinctively darting a look. A'niu had indeed grown up; even through his clothes, it was that big.

"If someone from the village catches us, your auntie won't be able to face anyone. Quickly go back to your room," she said.

Tian Mei covered her face with her hands, turned, and ran back to her room, slamming the door shut and leaning her back against it, her mind racing with thoughts of A'niu's impressive size.

A'niu silently looked at the closed door, feeling a sense of loss as he went back to his own room. Before leaving, he made sure to close the courtyard door for Tian Mei.

Not being able to sleep as he tossed and turned, A'niu's mind filled with the sound and look of his aunt's laughter from days past. In his restless state, he sat up and took out a grain of rice from his ear and scooped up a small basin of water from the water jar, placing the rice grain into it.

Seeing no change in the water of the basin, he decided to wait until morning to take another look.

But his mind was full of Tian Mei, and with such restlessness, how could he sleep? A'niu therefore activated the scriptures in his mind, finding a calming charm, and drifted off to sleep in a daze.

The next day.

A'niu stretched lazily, picked up the rice water that had been steeping overnight, and took a big swig. The scent filled his mouth, as if he had drunk the Jadescent Nectar and eaten the liver of a dragon and the marrow of a phoenix.

A refreshing sensation washed over him, banishing hunger and fatigue, leaving him feeling like he had endless energy.

An idea crossed A'niu's mind; he wondered what effect this miraculous water might have if poured on the crops in the fields. So he took the basin and went outside, watering the vegetable and fruit seedlings in the courtyard with the remaining water.

Miraculous things happened, the oranges in the yard instantly grew larger and turned yellow, emitting a sweet fragrance, while the tomatoes on the ground became big and red, and the other fruits and vegetables were each more enticing than the last.

A'niu had his confirmation and was overjoyed. Not knowing how they tasted, he quickly plucked an orange, broke it open, and began to eat.

As soon as he bit into it, the sweet and cool flavor was refreshing, and the juice smoothly flowed into his body, making him feel exhilarated and refreshed.

This orange was so delicious that it was incomparable to any orange he had eaten before—it was like comparing heaven to earth.

A'niu was ecstatic. In the countryside, nothing was better than farming, and now with this treasure, the "Jadescent Nectar," his crops would grow faster, be of better quality, and certainly fetch a higher price. Life would get better, and he could plan to grow more high-quality fruits and vegetables and sell them at good prices.

A'niu stuffed the "rice grain" back into his ear and ran excitedly towards the orchard up the hill.

"A'niu, come and have breakfast."

Tian Mei, carrying a big, round steamed bun, entered the yard and called for A'niu, only to see the gate wide open and A'niu nowhere to be found.

"This silly A'niu wouldn't still be angry with me, would he? Hiding from me so early in the morning and not even eating," Tian Mei said helplessly, but with a hint of care.

"A'niu, your aunt knows what's on your mind, but you are still so young. How could I stand in the way of your life? You're such a fool, A'niu." Tian Mei gave a bitter smile, placed the bun inside the house, and couldn't bear to close the door, returning instead to her own yard.

Holding his breath with anticipation, A'niu ran towards the water channel up the mountain.

Just as A'niu was excitedly looking for a broken basin to scoop water, voices from the dilapidated earth temple nearby caught his attention.

A'niu pricked up his ears, crouched down, and crept towards the ramshackle temple.

"Director Li, you mustn't do this."

"Lian Hua, your man has slept with every woman in the village. Can he still satisfy you?"

"Director, Wang Dalai is your nephew, what are you saying... don't take off my clothes..."

Upon hearing this, A'niu lay on the broken window of the earth temple and peered in in the direction of the voices.

Inside the temple, on a tattered grass mat in front of the Earth God, a man and a woman were lying together.

A'niu recognized both of them.

The man was the village chief, Li Dahai, and the woman was his nephew's wife, Zhao Lianhua.

Li Dahai held considerable sway in the village. Officially, he was the village chief, but behind the scenes, he acted like an emperor, exercising absolute power over the village. No one dared to offend him. At nearly sixty years of age, he still had a taste for other men's wives—if he set his sights on someone, he would do everything in his power to sleep with her.

Zhao Lianhua, his own nephew Wang Dalai's wife, had not escaped his clutches.

A'niu had never dealt with Li Dahai before, but he knew that those who had crossed him in the village had never ended up well.

At that moment, Li Dahai was pinning Zhao Lianhua down beneath him, hastily pulling off the woman's skirt in his excitement, his old hands trembling as he said, "You saucy wench, still playing hard to get with me, hurry up and take it off for me."

Zhao Lianhua smirked, her hands pushing against Li Dahai's chest, "I don't want to. If you're capable, make me take it off willingly, or are you planning to force me in front of the Earth God? Don't forget, my man is your own nephew and is known as the rogue of the village."

This woman was incredibly flirtatious; she seemed to be only around thirty, well-maintained with creamy, delicate skin and a voluptuous figure, capped by a pretty face. Her slender, bewitching phoenix eyes reminded one of the Jade-faced Fox Spirit from 'Journey to the West', possessing a unique allure of a beautiful young woman.

In the course of their conversation, Zhao Lianhua's upper garments had been removed by Li Dahai, revealing her fair skin for all to see, truly a sight hard to take one's eyes off.
