Capítulo 35: Web of Lies

As the elevator lurched to a stop, Alfred's eyes met Alexia's, and he tried to strike up a conversation. But she shut him down with a firm,

"I'm married, Alfred. I don't want any problems."

Alfred's curiosity was piqued. "Is everything okay? You seem scared. Is Bryan hurting you?"

Alexia's eyes darted around the elevator, as if she feared being overheard. "He's my husband, Alfred. I love and respect him. I just don't want him to get the wrong idea."

Alfred's mind raced. What was going on? Why was Alexia so afraid of her own husband? He pressed her for answers, but she tried to push past him and exit the elevator. But it was stuck, trapping them inside.

Alexia's eyes narrowed. "You did this, didn't you? You're trying to trap me!"

Alfred held up his hands. "No, Alexia, I swear! I have nothing to do with this!"
