Capítulo 58: Jealousy

"Oh, I'm so sorry," she says, feigning surprise. "Layla, what a pleasant surprise to see you here!"

Layla's expression shifts, a hint of displeasure flashing across her features before she forces a smile. "Charlotte, how lovely to see you as well," she says, her tone slightly strained. "I was just stopping by to drop something off for my husband."

"How thoughtful of you," Robin replies, her own smile bright and engaging. "I must tell you, I had such a wonderful time at the event the other day. I'd love to attend another one soon if you're hosting anything shortly."

Layla's eyes narrow slightly, and Robin can see the effort it takes for her to maintain her composure. "Well, I'll be sure to let you know if anything comes up," she says, her voice carefully measured.

"In the meantime, I should be on my way. I'm sure my husband will be delighted to receive this."

She lifts the package, her grip tightening ever so slightly.
