Capítulo 43: Chapter 38: Transactions

"It looks like this is the place," Varen muttered as he walked into the shop.

Although it bore Whitebeard's flag, this place was known for daring to accept anything, even Marine goods, so Varen didn't worry about the grievances between himself and the Whitebeard Pirates.

As soon as Varen walked into the store, many eyes immediately fell on him.

He had become famous in the New World twice in a row, and his appearance was well-known among pirates, pirate hunters, and other well-informed individuals.

"It seems that I'm not very welcome here," Varen noted as he felt the various gazes—vigilant, curious, and even murderous.

However, he didn't pay attention to these stares. Instead, he found a place and sat down casually, then looked in the direction of the boss and asked, "Boss, are you planning to trade with someone who has a grudge against Whitebeard?"

Varen's tone was gentle, almost amiable.

Seeing Varen's appearance, many people were quite surprised. Hearing that Varen had stirred up such a big disturbance in the New World, they had originally thought he would be a rather vicious character.

But in reality, he seemed like an amiable and gentle gentleman. Such a person slaughtering so many pirates in such a short period of time was hard for anyone present to believe.

"Of course, it's impossible. Our principle here is to trade regardless of who the other party is. Even if my father's killer came, we would wait until the deal was over and the other party left the island," the boss replied with a smile.

This was why he was famous here. Let alone Whitebeard's enemy, even if his father's killer came, he would wait for the other party to leave the island before pursuing them.

But immediately after the conversation changed, the boss asked very curiously, "But to be honest, I have never seen someone who killed Whitebeard's man and dared to enter Whitebeard's territory. And, it's still a Marine."

The boss's curiosity about Varen was evident.

"I won't bother you, manager, about the matter between me and Whitebeard. I will visit the Moby Dick myself. After all, I have stepped into someone else's territory, and I can't justify not visiting the owner's house," Varen replied with a smile.

"What!" Upon hearing Varen's words, many people's faces changed, and some looked at Varen in disbelief.

Visiting Whitebeard?

Just kidding, that was the most powerful big pirate right now. Although there were people in the sea who had no hatred against Whitebeard, there weren't many.

And how big was the ocean that Whitebeard owned?

In the New World, apart from the territories of the Marine and World Government franchise countries, the Whitebeard Pirates owned at least one-fifth of the sea, and many of the remaining places were deserted islands that were almost impossible to land on or had not been developed at all.

Whitebeard occupied at least a third of the area where pirates actually operated.

Among them, pirates who were forced to step into the Whitebeard sea area, especially those with enemies against the Whitebeard pirate group, usually hid from the Whitebeard pirate group.

After all, the territory of the Whitebeard Pirates was too large, and Whitebeard himself couldn't run around all day long, so he usually hid his identity. As long as the Whitebeard Pirates didn't know, things usually ended like this.

This was the simplest and most direct method. There were so many people, and Whitebeard couldn't take care of it all. He usually just turned a blind eye to deal with it.

Naturally, it was impossible for anyone to take the initiative to visit Whitebeard on the Moby Dick.

"That's interesting! But what you plan to do has nothing to do with me. Where are the things you want to trade?"

After a short period of shock, the store manager quickly realized that although this matter sounded scary, it had nothing to do with him. He was just a gray businessman.

"Everything is on the boat at the port, and it will be sold to you along with the boat. You can find someone to count it yourself. By the way, just prepare me a glass of milk with ice," Varen said, then walked directly to the front desk and asked the waitress for a glass of milk.

If this had happened elsewhere, people would have laughed hearing Varen asking for milk, and some might have even stepped forward to cause trouble.

However, none of the people present were idiots. They knew better than to seek trouble with Varen. What he wanted to drink was none of their business.

The waitress at the front desk seemed startled by Varen's statement about visiting Whitebeard's Moby Dick and hadn't recovered.

It wasn't until Varen approached her to ask for something that she reacted, quickly taking a glass of milk and putting ice cubes in it before handing it to Varen.

"Thank you." Pushing the square-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose, Varen smiled lightly and took the milk from her hand.

It's not that Varen couldn't drink alcohol, but it clouded his brain.

At the same time, the waitress looked at Varen with very curious eyes.

Dressed in clean and simple white clothes, with gentle corners of his mouth, soft eyes, and a handsome face, the young man gave off a very comfortable feeling.

If she didn't know the news in advance, she would never have believed that the boy in front of her was the terrifying existence that slaughtered the pirates on an entire island.

Or, even now, she still couldn't believe it
