Fable: The Rise of the Forth Hero

Ok, first off jManM fics are always incredible, but for the sake of word count I will be specifically limiting myself to this story. This author’s ability to take the rules and expectations of an established story and show the reader how it twists and turns when confronted by his characters is truly remarkable. In this fic you see the expected fable behavior, but what makes this story great is the main character’s ability to operate both in and out of the established norms. Some specific examples are the reactions of people from Albion when encountering extreme violence from the Mc, or the change in behavior of “npcs” when the Mc abuses the rules of the relationship and interaction system that fable is known for. The most apparent example of this is seen in Rose, the sister of the player character in fable 2, and her actions and reactions to the story changing around her. If anything is taken from this review, know that I truly believe that it deserves five stars, and that I am deeply impressed and grateful for the quality and depth of JManM’s writing.
