Ravan couldn't tell how long it had been since they had ventured into the dungeon, nor could he quite remember when he had acquired the system that had become such an integral part of his survival.
Time had become an indistinct blur of battles and stat increases, each day marked by a relentless pursuit of strength and vitality.
He had long since given up counting the days, focusing instead on the immediate, primal task of killing monsters and absorbing their life essence to fuel his newfound vitality.
Today, Ravan found himself chasing a trio of horned rabbits, their cute appearance belied by their vicious nature.
Each had a single horn protruding from their foreheads, their eyes a malevolent red with black sclera.
These creatures were swift and cunning, darting around with a speed that made them difficult targets.
Ravan had managed to kill two of the rabbits, but the last one was proving to be a formidable challenge.
The rabbit seemed almost toying with him, leading him on a wild chase through the labyrinthine tunnels of the dungeon.
"Get back here, you little bastard!"
Ravan yelled, his voice echoing off the cavern walls.
He lunged at the rabbit, only for it to dart away at the last second, its horn glinting mockingly in the dim light.
The system's voice chimed in, a calm contrast to Ravan's growing frustration.
[Target identified: Horned Rabbit]
[Vitality absorption potential high]
[These creatures regenerate at twice the normal rate, making them valuable for the host's recovery]
"Yeah, yeah, I know!" Ravan grumbled, panting as he rounded another corner.
The rabbit had disappeared into a small crevice, its beady eyes watching him from the shadows.
"You think you're clever, don't you? Well, I'm not letting a damn rabbit outsmart me!"
The rabbit darted out from its hiding place, sprinting down another tunnel.
Ravan followed, his steps heavy and deliberate.
He could feel his patience wearing thin, a thread stretched taut and ready to snap.
"Damn it!" he cursed, sliding to a halt as the rabbit once again evaded his grasp.
"I've fought giant centipedes, bugs, and who knows what else, and now I'm getting shown up by a rabbit? This is just great."
He took a moment to catch his breath, leaning against the rough stone wall.
His mind raced, trying to come up with a strategy.
"Think, Ravan, think. It's just a rabbit. A very annoying, very fast rabbit."
The rabbit appeared again, seemingly taunting him from a distance.
Ravan narrowed his eyes.
"Oh, you think this is funny, do you? Just wait until I get my hands on you. You'll be rabbit stew!"
With renewed determination, Ravan launched himself after the rabbit, his footsteps echoing through the dungeon.
The chase was almost comical, the rabbit zigzagging through tunnels and darting into small holes while Ravan stumbled and cursed, occasionally banging his head on low-hanging rocks.
"Son of a—!" Ravan swore as he banged his knee against a protruding stone.
"You little shit, come back here!"
The rabbit paused for a moment, its ears twitching as if it were actually considering his demand.
Then, with a flick of its tail, it disappeared around another bend.
Ravan let out a frustrated groan, running a hand through his disheveled hair.
"I can't believe this. Out of all the things to be bested by, it's a damn rabbit."
As he rounded another corner, he saw the rabbit perched on a ledge, looking down at him with what he could swear was a smug expression.
'Is...is it smiling?'
"Oh, so now you're gloating? You think this is a game?"
The system's voice interrupted his tirade.
[Reminder: Horned Rabbits have high regenerative abilities]
[Capture and absorb its vitality to maximize recovery benefits]
"I know, I know!" Ravan snapped.
"You think I haven't figured that out by now?"
The rabbit bolted again, leading him deeper into the dungeon.
Ravan's frustration grew with each step, his curses becoming more creative.
"I'll turn you into a fur coat, you hear me? A damn fur coat!"
The chase led them into a larger cavern, the rabbit zigzagging through stalagmites and disappearing into shadows.
Ravan skidded to a halt, scanning the area.
"Alright, rabbit. You wanna play hide and seek? Fine. I'm game."
He moved cautiously, trying to anticipate the rabbit's movements.
He heard a rustle behind a cluster of rocks and sprang forward, but the rabbit darted out from another direction, leading him in circles.
"You've got to be kidding me," Ravan muttered.
"A rabbit. A freaking rabbit!"
