Alex sat on the sofa eating a slice of extra cheese pizza, which he ordered on the phone. 'The feeling of not going outside and eating food on delivery is really good.'
His enjoyment was disturbed by a phone call, Alex reluctantly put his half eaten slice back into pizza box and reached to phone.
'Cheryl Mason, My classmate and close friend. Did he call for homework?' Thinking about it, Alex answered the call.
He heard an enthusiastic voice on the opposite side. "Hello, Alex! Merry Christmas!"
Alex answered instinctively, "Hello! Merry Christmas Cheryl."
"How's your vacation going?" Cheryl asked.
Alex, "Nothing much, it same old"
Cheryl's worriedly asked, "so your uncle didn't came this Christmas?"
"Yeah, he said his flight got delayed"
Cheryl raised his voice, "Oh God! Alex! It's Christmas and you are sulking alone at home. That's not how you enjoy your vacation man",
"Come here, we're going to have a party at my house 6 o'clock, you'll enjoy here. Mom and aunt are making cake, and few good dishes." Cheryl voiced his opinion.
"Nah man! I'm not in mood this time. Maybe next time, 'kay." Alex answered, avoiding it. He was unsure about how to speak with his friend. His jumbled memories still have have affect on his current behavior.
"Oh that's sucks! I thought you could help me this time, I really wanted to beat my cousin Grant's high score." Cheryl spoke in displeased tone, suddenly changing the subject.
"You can't even play Tetris easily, you can never beat anyone in video games. Hahah!" Alex laughed at Cheryl's response, as he knew Cheryl's lack of talent in gaming.
"Ok! I get it. I'll show you one day, I'll be at the damn Tetris out of you." Cheryl voiced his determined.
He laughed slyly and spoke on phone, "Heh! hey Alex, I heard a rumor about Patsy going out with Leon", Cheryl replied slyly, "Your crush got taken by our class bully, haha! What a classic movie cliche."
Hearing Cheryl, Alex was monetarily stunned by the information. He recalled that just previous year he changed his school to Chicago High and, at beginning of the year he expressed his crush on the blond girl named Patsy. He even went ahead and asked her out but, he was turned down by her.
Alex shook his head realising Cheryl was trying irritate him. He spoke in a calm voice, "It doesn't matter what she does, it's her life."
Cheryl felt surprised and replied, "Wow! I didn't expect you to be calm I thought you would be -"
Alex spoke suddenly cutting him, "jealous? No, I already expected something like this to happen, and it's not a big deal. I mean she wasn't even that beautiful and there's a lot of gorgeous ladies out their."
While Alex thought about the famous characters in this world. He inwardly chuckled and added to himself, 'And she isn't powerful like Captain Marvel nor she's charming like Black Widow, just another simple girl with teenage problems. I really don't want to get involved in such small problems, for now my goal is to get powerful.'
Cheryl replied laughing, "Yeah that's right there's lots of beautiful ladies, wait!" Cheryl suddenly raised his voice and spoke, "Did you just said ladies? Oh man! Don't tell me you are into mature ones, are you?"
"Dude, do you even have to ask that?" Alex replied raising his eyebrow.
"Abso- fu*king- lutley correct bro, I mean, who's dumb enough to fall for those flats, we want castles! Hahaha" Cheryl spoke with a fervent tone.
"Hahah! Castles" Alex laughed while imagining.
"So did you complete our homework?" Cheryl asked, suddenly changing the topic.
Alex, "Nah, I'll complete it after the new year, school is gonna open at 9 Jan so we'll have enough time."
Cheryl complained about the school homework. "Ok then, make sure to send me before 5th okay! Those questions are really hard for me to solve."
"Sure" Alex assured him, he knew Cheryl, being hot-headed sports guy, he avoided the academics.
"Hey Alex, I heard that after vacation we're going on tour at the NY History museum. and then visit Stark tower. I mean we could get a chance to meet the legendary Iron-Man and even come across the Avengers." Cheryl spoke with such interest that reminded Alex of his passion towards 'Avengers', especially towards Iron-Man.
Alex felt that, Cheryl might be one of those hardcore fans who purchased everything about their idol from toys to bedsheets. He had encountered those passionate guys in his past life.
Though in this life also there are many passionate fans, but some are even more outrageous. He remembered few incidents in which, some even committed crimes in public places just to get Iron-Man or Thor's attention. Alas, Poor spidey everyday gets scolded by his mustached friend.
"Whom did you hear from?" Alex questioned, as he felt something wrong in this.
"I heard from Tracy, she said Mr.Jackson is going to organize the tour this year." Cheryl replied
"Which Jackson?" Alex felt confused, though he rarely remembered any of his teachers names. Their presence rarely mattered to him.
Cheryl clarified, "Our new Chemistry teacher, The short bald one, remember?"
"Ah that bald one, I remember" Alex suddenly remembered, he once got scolded by him for not paying attention.
Just as Alex replied, he heard the alarm bell of the door rang. He immediately spoke, "Hey Cheryl! I gotta go, someone came at the door. I'll call you back later. 'Kay"
"Sure, Take care and Merry Christmas Alex" Cheryl replied.
"Merry Christmas to you too", Alex ended the call and walked towards the door. He peeked through the peekhole and saw a burly man in black coat with a gift box.
A smile blossomed on Alex's face seeing him. The situation reminded him of various times he opened the door with joy, following the habit, he opened the door and spoke to the man, "Uncle John! Merry Christmas"
Uncle John, The burly man in black coat, hugged Alex tightly with one arm. Both felt various emotions but today was special occasion. Uncle John replied with a large smile on his face, "oh Alex dear, Merry Christmas"
Alex felt the warmth, it reminded him of various Christmas and occasional visits. The joy he experienced with uncle John. Even though he lost his parents in his childhood, his uncle John helped him when he needed the most. Those moments of joy flashed in his teary eyes.
Silence was enough, as both felt the joy of connection between them until a few moments, later Alex complained, wiping his teary eyes, "Uncle John, you're late"
To which, uncle John laughed at his words and ruffled Alex's hair while, he replied in low voice, "I'm sorry Alex, please forgive me. I couldn't celebrate Christmas Eve with you but now I'm here. I know it's my fault but please understand your uncle's situation and forgive him just this time. Please!"
Alex felt grateful for having someone care for him, he knew it was a blessing to him to live again such moments which he couldn't live before but now was the time.
He stretched his hand and stubbornly spoke in a spoiled voice, "No! First chocolate!"
Uncle John smiled at his tone, he skillfully pulled out a dark chocolate bar from his inner pocket and placed in the boy's hand, as he had done it multiple times, and spoke, "Here, dark chocolate, it's your favorite one. Happy! Now let me in or we both might get cold standing here"
Alex nodded and complied to his words and both of them entered the house. Placing the suitcase and luggage aside, Uncle John sat on the sofa while Alex went towards the kitchen.
Sitting on the sofa Uncle John sighed, he felt guilty for not being able to be with his nephew. He lost himself in his thoughts, until Alex's words made him awake, as he heard, "Hot chocolate." He saw a cup of warm chocolate. John smiled while seeing the cup of hot chocolate. He remembered it was Alex's favorite and he made it for Alex in the cold days of winter.
Although slightly awkward, Alex motioned the cup towards him and said again, "Hot chocolate"
His words reminded John again and he took the cup and inquired, "so how's the school going?"
"It's good, I mean it doesn't matter to me. I'm ready to skip High school anytime. I'm staying there just because, you said that to wait until fall as, we'll be moving next fall, right?" Alex replied though his answer seemed more of question.
"I know, I asked you to stay there because, one of my client had offered a good college for you. You find it really good there." Uncle John explained.
"Which college? I want to go to MIT or CALTECH. Not just another lame one." Alex replied while emphasizing his needs.
"I know but my client said that, it's one of the best and most suitable college for you and he's going to come here to talk with you in next few weeks maybe. So when he comes talk to him. If you don't like it, we can try MIT or Cal-whatever", Uncle John answered as he explained his part.
"Its Caltech uncle. But Umm I still want to be in MIT, but if you're saying then I'll meet him just once.", Alex hesitantly replied.
Uncle John said, "Sure, I'm fine with it", then he saw the gift box still on the table and he exclaimed pointing at it, "Alex! You didn't open the present that I left for you? "
"I wanted to celebrate Christmas with you, so I thought I'll keep it until you return." Alex replied casually but even uncle John could see he was quite upset about it.
Uncle John stood up and said, "Actually, it's my fault, so let me give you another present", saying so, he put another gift box on the table which he came with. He then happily says, " Now you have two presents"
Alex took the box and happily replied, "Thanks uncle John. Truthfully, I have already forgiven you but, now that you have brought an extra present. I forgive you again."
Uncle John just smiled at Alex's words, for him it was good that he could atleast be with Alex and celebrate. He watched Alex opening the box with satisfaction.
As Alex opened the box, he saw inside, the latest video game set, it was quite in hype these day. Then he opened the small one which he kept from yesterday, and to his surprise it contained, a silver coloured, analog watch.
Alex joyfully replied, "Thank you uncle John. I really liked the watch and this is the latest game."
Uncle John sat on the sofa, watching Alex's reaction. He was inwardly satisfied. He chuckled and spoke, "It didn't cost much. One of my clients is in fact one of the manufacturers, so it didn't cost much. And I knew that you'll like it."
"Did you eat just pizza?" Uncle John asked Alex, seeing th pizza on table
"Yeah, I was eating it"
"Let me get warm bath, then we'll go out to eat today." Uncle John proposed.
"Yay! I want spaghetti with meatballs.", Alex declared his demand.
Uncle John chucked at Alex and spoke, "Sure! Let me take a bath, while you go and get ready."

Alex and uncle John went to nearby Richie's restaurant, by uncle John's car. Alex ordered spaghetti and meatballs, both ate while talking about various things.
Eating at the restaurant, Alex and uncle John and went by South shore beach, it was freezing winter and beach was empty. Nobody want to die freezing in beach. Passing the beach, They went to malls near north bridge. They were crowded, on the occasion of Christmas, it was really hard to move around the mall.
Watching the large crowd, Alex thought inwardly, 'Thank God, I brought silky and now, it's gene buffet time!'
Alex and uncle John went around the shops, uncle John was quite perplexed at Alex's enthusiasm on visiting the crowded shops, nevertheless he was quite happy that Alex was enjoying it.
The trip ended with a Chinese takeout. Arriving home both were exhausted. Eating the Chow mein noodles and fried chicken. They went to sleep in their respective rooms.

Alex sat on his bed, and took out Silky, the scanner tech and spoke,
Alex: Silky, how's the catch today?
Silky: It was plentiful boss. Silky has collected 763 gene sequences with 240 being mutant ones.
Alex: wow! Did you classified them?
Silky: Yes boss! Silky has classified them according to their codon sequence. Silky also found few important details while scanning the data on electronic devices.
Alex: I knew you'd scan them, that's why I visited those electronic shops. So what did you find?
Silky: Silky theorizes that if boss have a computer, we can make a sample AI copy, through which boss can explore internet of earth and Silky can safely gather data on internet.
Alex: Wow! Awesome idea Silky. Using a dummy AI copy, will not affect you while we can gather the data. Ah! I remember uncle John said he'd buy me a computer. I will ask him again, if he can't, we'll have to goet it other way. Tell me results of X-Gene.
Silky: Silky found important codons related of your DNA which are linked to your energy manipulation. Silky specified Extra-Dimensional energy signatures from your body. Silky have compiled other possible sequences which could be incorporated with proper gene ingestion and editing technology. Those sequences may give the boss new abilities. Silky has also compiled theories and data on Mutants and their X-Gene activation.
Alex: So, you have gene editing technology, right?
Silky: Although Silky have information on it, I don't have proper technology as due to my civilian class software. Silky advises to ask Ms.Ayrise about it. She may help in your endeavor.
Alex: Yeah, you're right. We'll need their help and more than that, We'll need money and technology. I don't have proper machines and facilities, I hope, I can get some through black market and some from college.
Yeah! Silky! prepare a good theory paper on carbon nano materials. I think I could utilize those research papers to get some funding.
Silky: Silky has a better idea, why not introduce a better energy drinks, silky scannee those harmful energy drinks. Silky has data on chemicals better than them.
Alex: Great! We can start with that area. I mean if we can get money by selling those chemicals. Haha! Silky! I have an even better idea, let's cook some hallucinogenic drugs with calming effect.
Okay Silky, now make another folder named Drugs and add info on making chemicals drugs with various effects like, Hallucinogenic drugs. Poisonous chemicals, and other harmful ones which affect the human body and other creatures.
Silky: Sure boss, Silky has plenty of information on chemically hazardous materials.
Listening to Silky, Alex inwardly laughed, 'let's cook those money making chemicals.'
