Mai Xiaomai was taken away by the police, while that sleazy man was sent to the hospital.

Mai Xiaomai couldn't produce her ID card, and after the statement was recorded, she was directly locked up in the detention cell.

She wanted to borrow a cell phone to call her parents, but they refused, claiming they had to handle things by the book and wait for the medical assessment results of that man.

Mai Xiaomai explained to them her identity as a forensic doctor.

That only made them less likely to believe her, and she was treated as a con artist instead.

Mai Xiaomai felt a sense of hopelessness.

Fortunately, the detention cell was segregated by gender, holding those temporarily detained for various infractions.
