Chapter 183: Mr. Fool's Good Temper

Despite the many points that could be criticized, the two fanfics Alice carefully selected actually contained a lot of information—information that was hard to distinguish between true and false. However, now was not the time to discuss this.

After all, he could chat with Alice anytime, but if the Tarot Club meeting got interrupted halfway due to Mr. Fool's insufficient spirituality, it would be quite embarrassing.

Before lifting the shield, he made a request to Alice: "…Please, next time something like this happens, can you give me a heads-up in advance?"

Alice asked in confusion, "But I did remind you, didn't I?"

Klein opened his mouth, recalling Alice's vague reminder, and said while holding his forehead, "Can you be a bit clearer next time?"

"I'll try my best," Alice replied sincerely.

Klein looked at Alice's sincere face, remained silent for a moment, and then lifted the shield.

In the dense gray fog, Mr. Fool glanced secretly at the blocked pile of miscellaneous items, seriously considering the feasibility of using "Creeping Hunger" to travel over and give Alice a good beating.

As soon as her vision was restored, Audrey curiously looked at Alice.

Alice's face still had a lingering smile, and with just one glance, Audrey concluded that Mr. Fool probably didn't even scold her much...

In the gray fog, Klein also seemed to realize that Alice's expression was too presumptuous. He gently tapped the bronze long table twice and, for the first time, said in a tone full of warning:

"Don't let there be a next time."

"Okay," Alice readily agreed—after all, she really didn't have the courage to tell Klein that the illustration Amon saw was actually drawn by her.

Alice's relaxed demeanor and Klein's high-handed but light-hearted attitude finally made Emlyn realize that something was off—the interaction between Miss Destiny and Mr. Fool didn't resemble that of a mortal and a deity at all.

And it was clear that Mr. Fool didn't think this attitude was a problem. He simply said in a calm tone:

"You may continue."

Having seen Miss Destiny cause trouble at the Tarot Club before, Audrey immediately understood that Mr. Fool intended to let this matter pass.

Audrey breathed a sigh of relief and inwardly marveled at Mr. Fool's good temper.

He really is like a parent... No, Audrey, how can you think of Mr. Fool like that!

Audrey quickly stopped her thoughts. At the same time, she heard Alice say to her, "Miss Justice, do you know the detailed process and outcome of the Great Smog incident?"

Audrey was taken aback and instinctively asked, "You don't know?"

Alice was silent for a moment before answering, "I fell asleep and just woke up."

This answer made Audrey pause. She instinctively wanted to ask if Alice had slept for a week, but then quickly realized that Miss Destiny might have slept for thousands of years before...

Recalling this, Audrey looked at the others who were also eager to know the answer and replied:

"With the reminder from Mr. Fool's favored one, the Church of the Goddess... the Church of the Goddess of the Night was prepared and promptly eliminated the Despair Witch, preventing the awakening of the 'Primordial Witch,' keeping the pollution level of the Great Smog within a controllable range.

"Moreover, the church discovered the Aurora Order's ritual and timely blocked the 'True Creator' who attempted to descend into the real world..."

"Wait," Alice raised her hand to interrupt, "why is it always Him?"

Audrey opened her mouth, unsure whether to respond to Alice's question.

At this moment, Alger and Emlyn were deeply shocked by the truth behind this.

Alger just tensed up instinctively, being steady by nature, and Alice had already warned that this involved an Angel King, so a couple more evil gods were not...

Not too unusual.

Emlyn's reaction was much more pronounced. He sat up straight, almost jumping out of his chair.

The reason he didn't jump was mostly due to Alice—her disdainful tone when mentioning the "True Creator" made him fall back into his seat.

Emlyn seriously pondered what Miss Destiny's true identity or power might be.

Alice had already seen through Audrey, knowing she wouldn't respond, and propped her chin in thought.

The original witch demigod was called the Despair Witch... Hmm, it should be a sequence name, right?

Thinking of this, Alice asked with some dissatisfaction, "Is she dead?"

"Yes, probably," Audrey replied hesitantly.

"What a pity," Alice said with some regret as she threw herself into the chair, "She hit me so hard..."

Audrey stiffened again, unsure how to respond.

Alger glanced at Alice inquisitively but remained silent.

In the silence, the "World" spoke in a hoarse voice, saying something that made everyone break out in a cold sweat: "Well done."

Alice widened her eyes and turned her questioning gaze towards Klein hidden in the gray fog.

Klein didn't speak, as he was trying hard to suppress his desire to laugh at Alice.

After all, she's fine now, and actually, I also want to hit her... Klein thought secretly under the cover of the gray fog.

Without a response, Alice finally kicked the leg of the stool in anger and lay down.

Miss Destiny finally quieted down, which was something to be thankful for...

Audrey, secretly relieved, resumed her reserved smile, stood up, and bowed to Mr. Fool in the gray fog:

"Mr. Fool, your favored one truly saved Backlund. Please convey my gratitude to him."

"This is just a trivial matter," Klein replied calmly in the gray fog.

Actually, I want to thank you for quieting Miss Destiny, but I dare not say it... Audrey sighed secretly.

Emlyn looked at Audrey, then at Alice, and suspiciously furrowed his brows. However, no one present had any intention of explaining things to him.

Fors's attention was not on this strange atmosphere; she was lamenting how fragile her beautiful life was in the face of divine conflicts.

The more she lamented, the more she realized one thing—Miss Destiny and Mr. Fool had an extraordinarily good relationship.

After sighing, Audrey added without showing any change in her expression:

"Sorry, due to the cleanup by the three major churches and the military in Backlund, I couldn't get the follow-up Roselle diary. Please wait another week."

"Okay," Klein said flatly.
