I could feel the weight of his gaze through the visor, and the air crackled with tension as we squared off.
"Let's see what we're both made of," I muttered under my breath, launching myself forward with all the speed I could muster.
The exosuit's arm swung towards me, but I ducked under it, aiming a powerful punch at the villain's side while he sat with his fists anchored to the vault. The suit absorbed most of the impact but still slightly deforming from my fist.
Continuing to pressure him, I delivered a rapid flurry to the lattice embedded in the vault. Pieces of metal flew wildly as I destroyed the suits supports. The machine whined and whirled in frustration as the tanks pumped more fluid to the mechanized armor.
"Bastard!" he shouted, swinging wildly. "Go home before I coma-tize you!"
"Not. A. Chance," I replied, dodging another strike.
Our initial exchange of blows was intense. My fists connected with the metal plating of the suit, sending echoes through the bank's ruined interior. Each impact from his fists felt like a battering ram hitting my body, each packed a punch that made the ground tremble. I relied on my speed and agility to keep him from landing too many solid hits.
I darted around him, aiming for the suit's joints and weaker spots. My strikes were precise, designed to exploit every armor's inherent vulnerabilities. The villain responded with a series of heavy swings, his movements slower but powerful, each one dangerous.
"You think you break my suit?" he taunted, his voice distorted by the suit's damaged speakers. "This thing came with a cape-killer guarantee!"
Slightly worried about his previous statement, I bluffed while dodging another swing, "I've taken down tougher opponents than you!"
I finally landed a solid blow against that things side, the material absorbed most of the impact, but the villain staggered slightly. I pressed the advantage with two more strikes to his chest, but he quickly regained his footing and countered with a charged blow that sent me sprawling across the floor. The ground cracked beneath me as I skidded to a halt.
Before I could get up, he was on me, his massive foot slamming down onto my chest and pinning me to the cement floor. I gritted my teeth, trying to push against the weight, but the suit's hydraulic systems were too powerful.
"Stay down, hero," he sneered, raising both fists. The actuators whirred as they built pressure, and then a rapid succession of blows began.
His fists descended in a relentless barrage, alternating between arms to keep the pressure constant. Each punch drove me deeper into the foundation, the cement cracking and displacing under the strain. Debris continued to rain down from the collapsing roof, adding to the destruction of the bank.
The pain from the strikes overwhelmed my face, but I couldn't afford to stay down. I struggled against the suit's heel, my hands pushing against the cold metal. Slowly, I felt the pressure in my muscles build as I focused all my strength into my grip.
"You won't... break me," I growled, feeling the metal start to give way under my fingers.
The more he hit me, the more I crushed the foot's plating. The impacts from his punches began to feel less impactful as I concentrated on lifting the suit off me. Gradually, the force of the blows lessened as my strength increased. I could feel the ankle joint beginning to buckle under my grip.
With a roar, I pushed harder, the metal creaking and groaning as it started to bend. Summoning every ounce of strength, I lifted the exosuit's foot off me and threw it to the side. The villain stumbled back, momentarily off balance.
I stood up, wiping the blood from my mouth, and locked eyes with him. I spat onto the ground, clearing my throat from the taste of copper.
I seized the moment, grabbing the villain by the chest plate and lifting him over my head, completely off the ground. Then, many surfaces along the suit retracted, revealing cylindrical opening along the limbs.
"BURN!" He yelled as those holes sparked, a green flame spewing onto my arms.
The fire felt warm against my skin, a soothing distraction from the pain in my jaw. The surrounded walls ignited soon spreading across the bank. I turned to see the scope of the blaze. While distracted, a strike from the exosuit knocked me back down.
The villain, With a malevolent grin, reached for the controls on within his mech suit. He activated the injection system, syphoning more fluid from within his storage tanks. The green fluid surged through the suit's veins, causing the metal to hum with increased energy.
"Double-time, bastard." he growled, his voice distorted and amplified.
The suit's force increased by an order of magnitude. He regained the upper hand, pummeling me with newfound power. Even without building the pressure within the pneumatics, each punch felt like a freight train, sending me flying through walls and support beams. The bank's structure groaned under the onslaught, and the building began to fully collapse around us. Dust and debris filled the air as chunks of concrete rained down.
From beneath the rubble, we emerged locked fist in hand, our eyes burning with determination. The pain throughout my body was immense, but gradually it began to subside. I felt my jaw pop back into socket with a sickening crunch, the strain on my muscles lessening as we remained locked in combat.
The villain sneered as the actuators built pressure. His strength surged again, and he crushed my hands beneath the force of his grip. Recoiling from the pain, the exosuit stuck my chest. The force sent me crashing through the remnants of a wall out to the parking lot.
The man used more of the green liquid in his system. The suit's fluid reserves comfortable now below half the original amount, but the villain laughed maniacally, reveling the fight as he jumped on top of me.
Lifting me off the ground, he grabbed me, pumping fluid into his hands as the hydraulics began to crush me. My vision blurred as he squeezed, and I could hear my bones creaking under the pressure.
"Enough games," the villain snarled. "You're gonna be the coroner's morning assignment."
He shoved my body into the pavement. The fight grew more brutal as he smashed me time after time. I limply bounced off the ground from the aftermath of his punch just as the next blow propelled me back down.
My head rolled side to side as the savagery overpowered me. I noticed the flashing lights of police cars around the edge of the bank's parking lot. Thankfully, I did not see any of the ambulances, surely having left already with the injured that I evacuated. A team of SWAT officers filed out of a van, ready with high-caliber weaponry to combat the mechanized threat.
The villain's armor hummed with power as he lifted me by the leg high above his head before he slammed me down into the asphalt. The ground beneath me cracked and shattered with the impact, the parking lot transforming into a web of fissures and debris.
He roared, injecting more of the emerald concoction into his suit. The fluid coursed through the pipes, the suit's strength increasing with every ounce.
The exosuit's actuators whirred and hissed, amplifying the villain's already monstrous power. He pressed down harder, his fists smashing into my body with unrelenting force. My vision blurred as pain radiated through every nerve, each new injury blending with the last. The asphalt beneath me splintered further, the impact craters deepening with every strike.
"How do you like that?" he taunted, his voice distorted by ringing in my ears. "Forget this test! I'm gonna be a new made-man!"
Bruises blossomed across my skin, bones creaked under the strain, and muscles tore with every punishing blow. As fresh injuries emerged, my body's accelerated healing fought to keep up, mending the damage from an old injury just as I was subjected to a new one. The process left me in a perpetual state of agony, caught in a cycle of destruction and regeneration.
Despite the searing pain, I refused to give in. Each time he raised his fists to deliver another crushing blow, I would try to catch the attack or dodge to the side. The villain's rage grew with every passing second, his attacks becoming more frenzied.
A knee driven into my ribcage, I gasped for breath, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through my body. The blow launched me into the air, soaring higher than the townhouses nearby.
I landed on the ground to be met with the heel of his suit. The man used more of the green liquid to amplify his potential for destruction. The emerald fluid in his suit's cylinders was nearly depleted, the once-full containers now barely stocked with the neon mixture. Desperation flickered in his eyes as a icon for low-fluid level appeared on his visor.
With a final, brutal kick, he punted me into the SWAT van, crushing the siding of the vehicle. The force from the impact sent me and the van tumbling over, quickly rolling towards the police perimeter.
Gritting my teeth, I mustered every ounce of strength I had left. Catching my footing, I dug my heels into the ground and held the van on my back, straining to keep it from crushing the officers behind me.
"Move!" I shouted, my voice raw with pain.
The officers scrambled to safety as I held the van in place. With a final push, I heaved it to the side, letting it crash harmlessly away from the police.
The dwindling liquid reserves bubbled into the veins of the mechanized armor. The man rushed towards me, attempting to crush me between his palms.
