Liam didn't wait for the clock to strike five before he headed to the restaurant for his dinner date with Maria.

The restaurant was one of the finest in Zeden, a place where elegance and sophistication met in a harmonious blend. A place his mother had carefully booked.

Liam sat at their reserved table which was near the window, the soft glow of the setting sun filtering through the sheer curtains, casting a warm hue over the polished wood and crisp white linens.

Although the atmosphere was serene, but inside, Liam's mind was anything but calm as his mind was occupied by his earlier conversation with Derek.

He shifted in his seat, glancing at the empty chair across from him as he replayed Derek's words which had planted a seed of doubt in his mind. One that had taken root and was now spreading like a weed, choking out his attempts to remain focused.
