While Liam was asking himself how that was possible and if truly his mother is able to harm anyone simply because she doesn't approve of them, Fiona was busy asking herself what it was that Harriet was planning.

Although she was scared, she was also curious as to what Harriet could do to make her leave Liam.

"Are you sure about this? That investigator could be lying to just get you to him for all I know. After all, he's your boyfriend," Liam said before he could stop himself and then shut his eyes to mentally count one to ten to call his racing mind.

Derek saw this and his heart broke for Liam. He wished that he could answer him and say none of this was true but unfortunately, it was and he couldn't tell him otherwise.

Thinking it would be better if he answered the question instead of Cora, he spoke up before Cora could, his voice steady but not without a tinge of sympathy.
