Fiona stepped into the office lobby, the familiar hum of activity buzzing around her. She adjusted her bag on her shoulder, her mind still lingering on the tense encounter with Harriet.
Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to focus. Harriet had only said all that to scare her off Liam. Or probably she was testing her to see how much she loved her son.
The elevator ride to the executive floor seemed longer than usual, each passing floor a reminder of the weight she carried.
Stepping out of the elevator and heading to her office, she was dragged out of her thought zone by Paul.
"Good morning, Ms. Lopez," Paul greeted and Fiona gave him a curt nod.
"Good morning to you too, and yes, everything is the same for today. No adjustments," she said and he nodded and watched as she continued to her and Liam's office.
Although she didn't say anything to him, Paul could tell she wasn't fine and he hoped that whatever it was, she would be fine.
