Capítulo 45: Only Escape Route

Liam arrived at his office, his mind preoccupied with two thoughts that refused to budge. The first was the deal he had made with his mother. The deal, a reminder of his entrapment to her.

He had agreed to her terms solely because he knew he could never bring himself to love, let alone marry, Cora. Yet, here he was, feeling like a prisoner of his own making.

The second thought was Fiona, her presence in his life a constant source of confusion. He knew this deal with his mother was only just a facade to keep Fiona in the company but the question hanging in the air was, would his mother let him?

It was one thing to earn her forgiveness but it was another for her to forgive and let Fiona continue working for him. She may not have said anything but he knew her silence spoke volumes.
