Capítulo 106: Chapter 93.2 : Erase Valliere Surname!!

Everit trudged home, his heart heavy with despair.

"Everit," called Mirajane.

"Ah? Good afternoon, Miss Mirajane," replied Everit, devoid of his usual smile.

"I've fulfilled my promise from last time," stated Mirajane.

"What happened?" Everit asked, bewildered.

"It's like wine, but not wine," Mirajane reminded him.

"Really?!" Everit's excitement surged upon hearing this. He eagerly grabbed Mirajane's wrist. "Where?"

"Of course, it's at my house. Let's go," Mirajane replied.

"Good."

As they walked, Mirajane explained, "The production process is similar, but I used some magic potions and mostly removed it. However, there might still be a trace left. You should try it. If it works, I'll consider the task completed. If not, I'll keep trying."

"Done!" Everit exclaimed.

He retrieved a contract and presented it. "After I try it, if there are no issues, you can sign this contract."

Mirajane took the contract, scanned it, then turned to Everit with a smile. "Long-term deal?"

"Absolutely!" affirmed Everit.

"For how long?" Mirajane inquired.

"Well," Everit pondered for a moment. "Until I can't even drink water!"

"That's a lifetime," Mirajane remarked with a smile.

Everit was taken aback.

"We're here," Mirajane announced, stopping at the entrance of her house.

She swung open the courtyard door, her voice gentle as she greeted, "Mr. Everit, welcome."

"Excuse me," Everit stepped inside.

"The goods are in the cellar," she informed him.

Mirajane led Everit down into the cellar. As soon as he crossed the threshold, the rich scent of wine enveloped him.

Everit inhaled deeply, his expression betraying his pleasure. "Ah, the aroma of wine."

"It's merely a beverage with the fragrance of wine," Mirajane smiled.

"It's wine!" Everit corrected firmly.

"Yes, yes," Mirajane nodded nonchalantly, guiding Everit towards a large barrel and popping it open.

Within lay "red wine".

She scooped out a bit and offered, "Try it."

Everit hesitated for a moment, then took a sip, mentally preparing himself.

Smack, smack, smack.

It was sweet, reminiscent of a drink, but with an added layer of sophistication that brought him a slight sense of delight.

"This is the taste of wine," Everit exclaimed, his expression one of intoxicated pleasure.

Mirajane refrained from correcting him.

Earlier, Everit had received a commission from a winery owner. His exceptional performance not only completed the task but also rescued the owner from a crisis, akin to saving a life or a business.

In gratitude, the owner gifted him with a recipe for an unreleased alcoholic beverage—a concoction that mimicked the scent of wine but was, in fact, a fruity drink.

After obtaining the formula, Everit was overjoyed, but upon attempting to concoct it, he glanced down at his feet and couldn't fathom drinking something made from them.

That's when he encountered Mirajane.

"Ahaha," Mirajane stifled a laugh behind her hand, "Are you interested in drinking my foot bath water?"

Everit turned away, dismissing the idea for now.

However, after enduring relentless teasing, Everit couldn't take it anymore and sought out Mirajane once more.

Yet Mirajane remained hesitant, saying, "I have my reservations."

Thus, the matter was postponed once again.

It wasn't until the Phantom Lord incident that Mirajane took the initiative to broach the subject again and agreed to help.

At that moment, Mirajane inquired with a smile, "So, Mr. Everit, what's your opinion?"

"Flawless," Everit sighed in relief.

"I'll help you this time, but you owe me next time," Mirajane declared.

"How much?" Everit asked.

"100,000 Jewels," Mirajane replied.

"Quite reasonable!" Everit produced a card and settled the debt.

"Now, the contract, let's add a couple of clauses," Mirajane suggested, holding out the document.

"What are they?" Everit inquired.

"A barrel of 100,000 Jewels. This is a significant transaction and a steady source of income," Mirajane explained. "I want to secure this partnership, so these are the additional terms—"

Mirajane read aloud:

"Clause 1: Mr. Everit de la Valliere is permitted to exclusively trade with Ms. Mirajane Strauss indefinitely, with no new partners allowed."

"Don't worry, discretion is key. The fewer people who know about this, the better," Everit assured. "You must also promise not to disclose this to anyone."

This was Everit's ultimate condition!

It would become one of his most closely guarded secrets!

"Of course, there's a second clause," Mirajane added.

Clause 2 : Once Mr. Everit de la Valliere violates the first agreement, Ms. Mirajane Strauss will

Mirajane's lips curled into a peculiar smile, sending a chill down Everit's spine as her voice sliced through the air with icy determination. "Erase the name Valliere," she declared coldly.

"Huh?" Everit muttered, caught off guard by the sudden change in atmosphere.

A gust of cold wind swept through the room, akin to a ghostly presence looming behind him, its frosty fingers trailing down Everit's neck.

"This seems a bit dramatic," Everit remarked nervously. "Surely, you're jesting."

Mirajane chuckled, momentarily relieving Everit's apprehension. But then, with a smirk, she added, "It will render you unable to even swallow a drop of water."

Everit fell silent, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead as he wiped it with a trembling handkerchief.

"The contract," Mirajane tilted her head, "Do you still wish to proceed?"

"It feels as though I'm bargaining with the devil," Everit muttered uneasily.

"Will you sign it, then?" Mirajane pressed.

After a tense pause, Everit clenched his teeth and conceded, "I'll sign."

The ink dried on the parchment as they both affixed their signatures, sealing the pact. With a shimmer of magic, the contract split in two, each taking a portion.

"It's getting late," Mirajane remarked, tucking away her copy of the contract. "Care to join me for dinner at my place?"

"What's on the menu?" Everit inquired with curiosity.

"Mapo Tofu, Braised Pork, Eggplant with Minced Pork," Mirajane listed.

"Please, let me feast!" Everit exclaimed eagerly.

These dishes were his favorites, after all!

There's a wineskin hanging from Everit's belt.

To be honest, in terms of his attire, the wineskin seems a bit out of place.

But nobody's paying much attention to this minor fashion faux pas.

Keep in mind—

Everit!

Wineskin!

Early this morning.

So he showed up at the Sanhedrin.

*Clang*

He plopped himself down in front of Cana.

"What are you up to?" Cana set her wine glass down.

"Cana, you look stunning today," Everit said with sincerity.

". . ." Everyone glanced at him, curious about what mischief he was about to stir up.

"Oh, thank you," Cana replied, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of making her blush. She waved her hand dismissively and added, "Just don't get too close to me."
