Capítulo 16: A Descent into Hell! IV

From behind the trees near the carriage appeared two mages and the coachman.

Adall, who had understood that the coachman was an ally by analyzing the scene of the knights' guardians' murder, automatically knew that this group was not hostile to him.

Moreover, the faces of these two mages were not entirely unfamiliar to him. They were also friends of his late father. Adall had already met them in the past.

After a quick greeting, the two mages moved to a clearer space and began tracing a gigantic magic circle on the ground.

Meanwhile, Martin approached Adall to explain how things would unfold from that moment on.

"We managed to contact your uncle Merlin and explained the situation to him. Allen and Jason will teleport you to him. He will take care of you from now on."

He then handed Adall a purse filled with gold coins and a sword, continuing,

"There is some money in this purse. It will help you for a while, although I don't think you will need it with your uncle nearby. And this sword is the one your father used when he was still a young swordsman. I won it from him in a poker game. I think it would have rightfully belonged to you if he hadn't lost it in the game that day... Hahahaha..."

"But, Uncle Martin..."

Before Adall could even utter a word to express his reluctance to take the sword, he was abruptly interrupted by his interlocutor.

"It's okay, don't be shy! Besides, you don't have any belongings of Michael with you, do you? Then take the sword as a memento of him. At worst, you can sell it if you encounter financial difficulties in the future. It must be worth several hundred gold coins."

Adall had no more arguments against owning this sword.

It was true that apart from what he had been wearing for the past 3 days, he literally had nothing on him. Unable to know in advance that he would be banished from the family, he had not taken with him the items he collected in memory of his father. So, this sword had become, from these few words of Martin, the most precious object in his eyes.

"Martin, we're ready."

Perfect timing!

The magic circle intended for Adall's teleportation was now ready.

At Jason's announcement, Martin and he walked towards the two mages. When they arrived near the circle, Jason signaled to the young boy to enter it. An order he did not hesitate to follow for a single moment.

The two mages then began to circulate their mana within the circle to activate it. The latter began to glow as they completed this action, proving the smooth operation of the procedure they had set up.

But suddenly, the light that was supposed to remain stable after the complete activation of the circle began to intensify even more. An intensity so insane that it quickly became blinding.

"What's happening, Allen? I'm gradually losing control of the magic circle on my side."

"What? Me too!"

Allen was just as disoriented as Jason about the situation.

Martin's voice rang out with rage at this point in the middle of their discussion.

"What's going on, damn it? Do what's necessary to regain control of the circle quickly. The kid's safety is at stake. You nee-"

Too late!

Before he could finish his sentence, the light had disappeared, taking Adall with it.

The two mages fell on their backsides, repelled by the force taking control of the magic circle.

"Ha... ha... ha... Someone... ha... Someone forcibly took control of our magic circle and teleported Adall to another location than the one we programmed."

Allen's incessant gasping and weak voice showed that he was in the grip of fatigue, but he had to explain the situation to the other two.

At the announcement of this news, Martin took out a sword as big as himself from his storage ring and began to violently inject his aura into it while brandishing it as if he were about to charge an enemy.

"In which direction is he?!"

"Calm down, Martin! Jason and I clearly felt it. He's not as close to us. According to the amplitude of the connection, he could even be on another continent. Furthermore, his power surpasses comprehension. A mage of the 10th circle. No, he's probably even stronger."

"That's true, Martin. We were no match for him at all despite being two mages of the 8th circle. Besides, I believe we didn't even bother him for a single moment in his endeavor when we tried to regain control of the circle."

Jason's words also supported Allen's assumptions.

"What? Are you telling me that the one who took control of Adall's teleportation circle is on another continent? And that he's stronger than a 10th circle mage?"

Martin couldn't accept it, and that was understandable.

Only in mythological tales were mages beyond the 10th circle mentioned. And overnight, such a being appeared, and moreover to kidnap a 13-year-old child who had just been banished from his home? Who would believe that?

"Damn it!"

In his rage, Martin swung his sword in the direction of the nearby forest.

The shockwave created from the movement uprooted hundreds of trees and turned the earth for kilometers.

"Let's contact Merlin to see if it was him. Although I think it's unlikely that he's the culprit. We can take the opportunity to tell him what happened with the transfer."

With Allen's words, the two mages and Martin got back into the carriage and resumed their journey with the coachman, who during Adall's kidnapping events, was disposing of the bodies of the knights guardians killed a little earlier.
