Capítulo 121: Chapter 121: Arrest

"Are you still eager to talk to her?"

Winter frowned slightly but didn't say anything more, understanding my reasons.

"It's a crazy idea, but you might pull it off."

James said, and his demeanor showed signs of needing a drink soon.

"Ozpin knows how to access certain places where relics are stored, but one such place is right here in Atlas."'

"Ozpin, do you mean him in the boy's body, Oscar?"

I asked again.

Winter had mentioned this.

She said he had contacted them after hearing about me... and our group and clearly wanted to learn about us.

As far as I remember, they are currently in Mistral at Haven Academy.

"Yes... he's reincarnated in a new body. Grimms has been raging lately, and there are fights on the kingdom's borders almost every hour."

"Do you think Salem's behind it? It seems more like the mindless actions of beasts without a leash to me."

I remarked, looking at the hologram projection activated by James, showing Grimm and many Atlas fighters.

"I don't know what to think. We're up against an immortal witch you can't defeat just by shelling her with artillery or blowing her up with the most powerful bomb..."

"Speaking of strength... how's the Winter Maiden?"

I smiled at Winter, and she clearly understood what I meant. She couldn't hide the slight twitch of her lips with a genuine smile.

"She's alive but weak... Can you help?"

"Of course, you're my friend."

I approached her and touched her shoulder.

"And I think I promised to do that, so lead me to her. I'll do my best."

Winter didn't respond immediately and simply continued to look into my eyes.

The silence in the office was not noticeable to us, but James...

"Ahem, I'll... I'll leave then... from my office."

He said this while turning away and heading for the door.

"N-No, everything's fine. Let's go... I'll take you to her. General, are you coming with us?"

She spoke the first words rather quickly and turned to James.

"I'd be curious to see that... You wouldn't mind if I also call Dr. Polendina? I think he'd be interested in seeing this live; maybe it'll give him some ideas."

James suggested.

"I don't mind."

I shrugged.

I earned his trust the last time I was here, but he had learned a lot of shocking information since then... like the fact that I could practically be called a god in terms of power.

After learning that, he changed his attitude towards me, but I hoped he would change his mind soon.

Moreover, it was clear he wanted to ask about many things.

Atlas's best technologies protected the Winter Maiden, but not every high-ranking person in the kingdom had access to them.

Freya was old, and only Winter had been spending time with her lately, talking about various things.

The fact that they led me straight to her already showed a lot of trust... and James' wisdom.

"Oh, so you're the young man Winter often talks about."

Freya noticed us as soon as we entered her room with a slight smile.

"Freya!"

Winter suddenly exclaimed.

"What? Ha-ha, I'm already old. Let me enjoy the feelings of the young."

Freya chuckled.

"And even the general is here... finally figured out how to harness that power, huh? Well... my time should have come a long time ago anyway."

She closed her eyes.

"Thinking about death a bit early."

I remarked and created an analysis seal under Freya, using the Mnemonic spell just in case.

"But nothing new. It's just like with the Fall Maiden."

I remembered how I analyzed Cinder Fall.

"Does this mean..."

Winter began clenching her fists in excitement.

"It means that everything is fine, and I'll be able to separate the Winter Maiden's powers from Freya without any deadly outcome and then transfer it to you."

Cinder gave off an orange-colored spiritually magical energy last time.

This time, Freya's was more snowy white which represents winter cold and frost.

Freya's power had already merged partially with her soul, but only partially.

It remained a formation that could be removed... by dying or by being MUCH stronger than the Maiden herself and her spiritually magical energy along with the necessary knowledge.

The actual transfer of power without killing Freya began about fifteen minutes later, once I had prepared the room and Dr. Pietro Polendina had arrived to observe the process.

"Alright, everything's ready. Theoretically, it could all be done quickly, but I approached this as carefully as possible. Sit here, and you, Winter, sit opposite."

I instructed them where to sit.

The room was filled with magical seals created to continuously analyze their conditions.

I started slowly "extracting" the power of the Winter Maiden from Freya once they sat where I indicated.

All this power gradually gathered above Freya in the form of a white cluster of ice energy which tried to break free and return to its place...

After careful extraction, I... reconsidered simply infusing the power into Winter.

It would be much more beneficial to place it in an artifact connected to her soul.

I could add the powers of other maidens in the same artifact.

That's what I did. I took this power from the divine Eighth Metal ring and placed it there.

Therefore, a small object with four parts representing a different power hovered over Winter.

At that moment, Winter's part shone and filled the entire artifact to show that it was working and that only the Winter Maiden's power was there.

It was a sort of similar to Albedo's Geo Vision, but now I could create such an artifact on my own.

"This..."

Winter murmured uncertainly, looking at the artifact before her.

I had connected it to her soul, and she should be able to feel the surge of power.

"I did it a little differently; I hope you like it. I'll call this artifact 'Season of the Year' because it will contain the power of all four Maidens. Do you feel the power?"

I asked.

"Yes... I feel connected to it."

Winter replied.

Then the artifact moved into her hands and then disappeared... or rather, it simply ended up inside her soul to merge with her.

She could summon it when needed, and she could also use all the powers of the artifact.

"Are you alright?"

She suddenly turned to Freya, who was now examining her hands and had become slightly... younger.

I rejuvenated her by about twenty years to ensure she could fully endure the process.

"I feel much younger, and yes, Winter, I'm fine. All thanks to your husband."

Freya replied as she noticed Winter's puzzled expression. She exhaled and decided not to continue the argument.

"He's not mine."

Winter muttered.

"Anyway, it doesn't matter. The important thing is that everything went smoothly."

She said, and the room suddenly chilled due to Winter's newly acquired power.

She could already wield ice magic thanks to the skills she gained from the last mission that created magical ice golems.

All her abilities related to ice, frost, and cold had become stronger again.

She now intuitively controlled this element.

"You need to learn to control your new power."

I said, neutralizing Winter's power's chilling effect on the room.

"It shouldn't take much time, and I think it's time for Jacques Schnee to fall, don't you?"

I asked.

Winter did something unexpected and smiled softly, but her eyes betrayed a thirst for revenge.

During my first visit to this world, I had asked Cortana to find all the evidence of Jacques's dark deeds, and then I handed them over to Winter.

After all, he was her father, and she wasn't ready to ruin his life so quickly back then.

However, she was more than prepared now that it had been more than six months and she had started her own preparations.

Jacques had influence in the Atlas Council, but that was nothing compared to the evidence of all his misdeeds.

Of course, he could try to deny it all... and that's exactly what Jacques would do if he were given time to realize the situation.

But with General James's support, everything could be accelerated, and Jacques could be apprehended immediately... which was already beginning to happen.

This problem couldn't be delayed any longer. We had more important things to do than a long court case with Jacques.

I've encountered several such people in my life.

Jacques was currently on the floating island that housed one of the artifacts or relics I needed.

The kingdom looked appealing from the outside, but individuals like Jacques Schnee were behind this facade.

There were four relics in total.

The Relic of Creation was hidden in the Atlas Academy vault that allowed the summoning of Ambrosius, a genie who could create anything... but they needed to provide blueprints or clearly understand what they wanted.

Ozma or Professor Ozpin had used this relic to make an endless energy source that kept the city afloat... even though the city flew thanks to gravity dust.

There were also the Relics of Knowledge, Choice, and Destruction.

I roughly knew where they were, but I wasn't confident...

"Are you ready to take your negligent father into custody?"

I asked her.

"More than ever. After this, I'll need to call my sister and explain... all of this. She definitely won't object."

"That's good, and if anything happens, I'm with you."

I reassured her who nodded.

There was no need for any more words, and the Atlas soldiers landed near the Schnee Manor without any issues and began to enter.

At the same time, James called for a council meeting and began to present evidence of Jacques's crimes and also appeared online.

The butler who smiled upon seeing Winter opened the door to the manor.

"I'm glad you've returned, young miss."

Klein Sieben stepped aside to let everyone in.

"I've been waiting for this moment since your departure. I'll go prepare a celebratory cake for you and your sister."

He said cheerfully as he headed to the kitchen.

"It seems your father has a negative level of respect even among the staff."

 I chuckled.

"Respect him only for his business... and even then, it's too dirty."

Winter spoke while striding confidently into the manor.

We didn't have to walk far. We entered the main study where the white-haired man sat, his face practically begging for a brick to hit it.

"Winter? You decided to return to the family nest... Who are all these people?"

Jacques Schnee frowned.

"Jacques Schnee, you are now under the custody of the Kingdom of Atlas for your crimes. Anything you say can and will be used against you... and don't worry no one will help you. I'll make sure justice is served for our broken family."

Winter declared firmly.

"Hey, let me go! I won't let this slide so easily! Do you hear me?!"

He exclaimed as Atlas soldiers grabbed him by the arms and dragged him out.

"I've been waiting for this moment since I left home and enlisted."

Winter shared with me.

"I never thought it would happen, and I'd have the courage and determination for it."

"What are you talking about? You recently went into another world and fought spiritual entities, wizards, and inquisitors. You're more than brave and determined. You just needed that push... faith."

"And you provided that."

She looked at me...

"Winter, dear, is that you?"

A woman who strongly resembled Winter and Weiss appeared in the doorway.

"I... I just saw soldiers dragging Jacques through the house. Is my mind playing tricks on me?"

She asked while holding a bottle of wine.

"Mom..."

Winter gave her mother a complicated look... her drunken mother who was still quite beautiful.

"It's over with Jacques."

"Oh, well, okay then."

Willow Schnee shrugged and drank straight from the bottle before wandering off somewhere.

"Not the worst mother anyone could have, but definitely not ideal."

I remarked as Winter looked at me as if apologizing for her mother's behavior.

"She... didn't start drinking right away. She became like this because of my father who saw our family fall apart... and she couldn't do anything but drown her sorrows in alcohol. I need to call Weiss... Dad wanted her to be here and stop being a huntress, but she rebelled, and her team supported her... and she left. Now she's at Haven Academy with her friends."

"I wouldn't mind visiting RWBY."
