Capítulo 68: 68. International Guild Conference
The International Guild Conference is a very important event for the Hunters all over the world. Here, they can share important information for the development of Hunters and Dungeon Raids.
It's also a place for reunion for some Hunters who have become friends. Just like how Dewi and Egypt's Dina, the only 2 female National Level Hunters in the whole world.
Both women have been together since they met the day before the conference. They even plan to stay in the USA for a while to have fun. Indra is grateful for that because now his sister won't annoy him.
"Yo, Indra, I heard you have something important to show us today."
Thomas who had just arrived this morning immediately looked for Indra. Both of them and Il Hwan have become close friends since the S-Rank dungeon raid.
Thomas and Il Hwan also think of each other as rivals. They have fought a few times inside Indra's barrier to see who's stronger because they both couldn't break Indra's barrier before the S-Rank raid.
But so far, they are still equal. Thomas can't catch up with Il Hwan's speed while Il Hwan can't break through Thomas's defense. They always exhaust each other in each of their fights, so there's still no winner so far.
"Yeah, it will be something that every country wants. But I doubt you will want that."
"Hmm? Something that all countries want but a high-rank Hunter doesn't want? That's interesting."
Indra hasn't told anyone other than Jin Woo about the magic guns. He only told the organizer that he has something to show in the conference and asked for a time which they easily agreed to. There's no way they had the guts to refuse a National Level Hunter's request.
The conference finally starts at 8 am. As usual, they introduce the Hunters and Guilds participating in this conference. There are some new faces and even new Guilds representing their countries, but it's normal.
Many are quite interested when they introduce South Korea's representatives, Ahjin Guild. Indra was laughing when he heard Il Hwan founded a Guild and named it Ahjin.
He knew Jin Woo must've chosen that name because he couldn't think of other names. Though it's also the most suitable name for them because Jin Woo's sister's name is Jin Ah, so it's like their family's Guild.
Anyway, people are interested in them now because a National Level Hunter's son is awakened as an S-Rank. It's a very rare thing to happen, after all, so people are quite intrigued, but not for long because it's not really important for them.
The most important things are the new discoveries about dungeons, known monsters' weaknesses, new monsters and Hunters who awakened new abilities that become the topics of today's conference.
These things will help them make better strategies for dungeon raids, after all. So they need to focus on these topics.
They talk about those things for hours and no one complains because this is how it always goes in this conference. It's actually already much faster than the First Conference that took almost a week to finish because they still have so much information to share.
After they finish the discussions, it's finally time for Indra to get on stage. Everyone has heard that he wanted to show something good and become very curious about it.
Indra takes out 4 black cases from his system inventory, surprising everyone who never knew he has a spatial ability. He never had a reason to show them, after all, so most of them don't know he has such an ability.
"What I'm about to show you are these."
When he opens the black cases, everyone is frowning because what he shows are guns. They don't know what's so important about guns because guns don't work against monsters or even hunters.
"Well, it will be easy to give a demonstration before explaining. Thomas, can you help me?"
"Me?"
"Yeah, a tough guy like you won't possibly be afraid of these guns, right? They might hurt though, so you can refuse."
"They might hurt me? Heh, interesting."
The Goliath walks up the stage in his shorts and hawaiian shirt as usual. He stands 3 meters beside Indra who takes out a pistol.
"Open your shirt so we can see what will happen."
Thomas opens his shirt and exposes his gigantic body. Then without any hesitation, Indra shoots the pistol at Thomas's body.
*BANG!*
The shot is so loud because they are indoor, so everyone closes their ears reflexively.
"Ah, sorry about that."
Indra casts Heal on everyone in the room, making their ears much better instantly.
"Now, can you see Thomas's stomach?"
Everyone looks at it and the camera zooms in. Their eyes widen instantly when they see a small bruised spot on Thomas's stomach. Even Thomas himself is surprised because he actually felt that shot sting a bit.
Normal guns would never work on Hunters, not to mention a National Level Hunter like Thomas. But that pistol actually damaged Thomas's skin even if it wasn't too noticeable.
Then before everyone can react, Indra shoots the rifle at Thomas in burst mode. Everyone closes their ears again and Indra heals them after finishing. Now they can see more small bruised spots on Thomas's skin, showing that the previous damage wasn't a coincidence.
"I still have 2 more to show you, so don't be too surprised yet."
Indra heals Thomas's skin while taking out the other pistol. Everyone covers their ears before Indra can shoot the pistol. But they are surprised because the pistol doesn't make loud gunshot noises
The shots sound like those plasma guns in fictional movies. Also, they are surprised that the bullets coming out of the pistol are glowing blue. It really looks like a pistol in movies now.
But they are getting more surprised when they see Thomas's body. The bruise spots are clearer and bigger than the previous ones. Thomas also felt these shots hurt more than the previous ones.
"How was it, Thomas?"
"Huh? Well, I felt more impact in the last shots. But where are the bullets?"
Indra smiles as he opens the pistol's magazine and takes out a blue crystal stick.
"This pistol doesn't have metal bullets. It shoots magic bullets made of the mana inside this magic crystal. While the previous pistol used metal bullets. But those bullets were imbued with magic, that's why they could still damage Thomas."
Indra shows the metal bullets that have faint blue aura emanating from them.
"The rifles have the same principles as the pistols, they just have different cases. As you saw, the guns with metal bullets were weaker than the ones with magic bullets. But they are easier to make and non-awakeners can use them. That means normal soldiers can fight monsters too in emergencies."
Indra explains a few more things like how the ones with magic bullets can be used in dungeons, the damage on monsters, etc. These guns surely can't kill high-rank monsters, but they can kill D and E-Rank monsters.
Just being able to kill D and E-Rank monsters doesn't seem like much for the S-Ranks because they can do it with a flick of their fingers.
But the smart ones know it's a big deal for their countries because not only it can reduce the casualties among low level hunters, normal soldiers can also help in case of emergencies like dungeon breaks.
That's why the USA's Federal Hunter Bureau quickly asks Indra about the magic guns and how they can purchase them.
"Rather than selling finished products, what I need now is business partners to produce the guns. We are not a firearm manufacturer, so we can't produce high quality guns. These prototypes are not good. Their handlings, accuracy, recoils and even designs are bad. If not for my strength as a high-level hunter, the guns would've jumped out of my hands when I shot."
"The USA can help you with that, sir. Just tell us the price."
"Uh-uh, not so fast. I will state my conditions here and then you guys can tell your Government or anyone interested to send me their offers later. As you heard before, these guns use my magic called Rune Magic. So only I can make them usable. That's why I want the factory to be built near my home. I also have some rules about the selling that I can explain to those who are interested and call me. Think of what you can offer for this business and contact me after a week."
Indra makes sure they only contact him a week later because he has things to do this week and doesn't want to get disturbed. If they are stupid enough to ignore that, then he won't work with them no matter how good their offers are.
