Capítulo 41: 41. Battle of S-Ranks
Before Dewi & Doni fight, Indra creates a magic barrier in the shape of a dome. He's sure that their fight will destroy the gymnasium, after all. So he needs to use his barrier to prevent that and to let them go all out.
"Is this your ability?"
"Yes, a barrier to block all physical and magical attacks. I still don't know how strong this barrier is, so this is a good chance to test it."
Obviously, Indra lies about not knowing the magic barrier's power. His magic barrier that looks like a translucent blueish glass is strong enough to block all of an A-Rank dungeon boss's attacks until the boss runs out of power.
So he's confident that even if these 2 S-Ranks attack his magic barrier seriously, it won't break at all. The effects caused by their clashes won't even shake it. Unless they are stronger than Indra, which isn't the case at all.
Indra has been raising his skills' levels every time he raided a dungeon. Now, most of his skills are maxed level, including this magic barrier. So now his skills' power depends on his own power. They will get stronger as he also gets stronger.
He actually feels that he still can improve those maxed-level skills, but he doesn't know how to do it yet. In some games, skill can evolve like going from beginner stage to intermediate stage then to advanced stage. Indra feels that it's possible for his skills to 'evolve' as well.
But well, it's not an urgent matter and he can think about it in the future. For now, he needs to focus on what's in front of him. He is actually also very curious to see how strong his sister is in a real battle because it will be her first time fighting after she awakens.
Indra actually has seen Dewi's abilities and she also has seen some of his abilities. They have trained secretly back in Bali just to see what they can do. It was actually just a training for Dewi to understand how to activate her abilities.
In that training, Indra created a barrier in the shape of a dome like the one he uses now. But the barrier he used in that training also covered the ground, unlike this one. Indra deliberately does this to show that he isn't that skillful yet and that his barrier is stronger than this reinforced building.
Because they have seen each other's abilities, Dewi isn't surprised when Indra activated the barrier. Indra is also not surprised when he sees Dewi transform into her Moon Rabbit form. But they are faking their surprise a little because they are supposed to not use their abilities before this test.
Dewi's Moon Rabbit's form is very similar to Carrot from One Piece in Sulong form. She has white fur and black-red eyes. But her white hair and tail aren't very long, unlike Carrot. Her eyebrows just look like 2 thick red dots.
The inner parts of her bunny ears, the tip of her hair, the tip of her tail, her nose, her palms, and the sole of her feet are red too. Then there are red crescent moon marks on both of her shoulders. Her nails also become sharp and they are also red.
Meanwhile, Doni is activating his skill called [Unbreakable]. It's a Tanker skill that hardens his whole body. It can block both magical and physical attacks, making him a literal human shield because he doesn't need armor or shields to defend.
Then he also uses [Strengthen] which doubles his already high physical power for 10 minutes. Those 2 are his main skills as an S-Rank Tanker and have helped him stop many monsters. He has more skills, but won't use those because he wants to observe his opponent first.
After just looking at each other for a while, Dewi and Doni finally make their moves. Dewi dashes toward Doni at a very high speed. Others can't see it, and even Doni can barely see it. But Indra can clearly see Dewi's move. She doesn't run, but just jumps forward.
"Heh, a bunny hop."
With just a jump, Dewi can reach Doni's spot almost instantly. Then she sends a straight punch with her right fist. Doni blocks it with both of his arms and Dewi feels like she is punching a rock.
"So hard."
Dewi can't break Doni's defense, but her punch still manages to push him back. Doni can also feel how strong her punch is. It is stronger than the attacks of any monsters he ever fought, even the A-Rank dungeon bosses.
His arms actually tremble a little after receiving that punch and he feels a throbbing sensation from the spot that gets punched. It truly is the strongest attack he ever faced in his life.
Dewi doesn't stop and she keeps attacking Doni with her merciless attacks. She has better Muay Thai skills than Indra even before her awakening. But she was being held back by her physical power that got surpassed by Indra quickly as he grew up.
She was limited by her genes as a woman even though she was very skillful. But now, that limitation has gone because of her awakening. So she releases all those years of pent-up frustrations in this fight.
Punches, kicks, knees, and elbows are flying toward Doni with different techniques. Her attacks are very powerful and people are impressed. But Indra can see that she still hasn't used her full power.
'Seems like she holds back her power unconsciously because many people told her that her power is dangerous and she can kill someone if she's not careful. So she unconsciously holds back her power because she's afraid of killing him.'
No one other than Indra knows. Even Doni who faces her thinks that she is going all out because her attacks are very powerful already. That's why he is confident he can handle her attacks despite them being stronger than any attacks he ever faced.
But he is just enduring her attacks because as a Tanker, his attack power is low for an S-Rank. So his strategy is to tire her out and take her down later when she runs out of energy. For now, he needs to endure her barrage of attacks that start to make his body numb.
"SIS! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?"
Indra suddenly shouts, surprising everyone there.
"What is it, Indra? I'm busy here."
"Busy holding back? Why are you hesitating every time you are about to hit him? Are you dumb?"
"Huh? W-what do you mean I'm holding back?"
"It is what it is. Don't hold back! He is a Tanker whose power is to defend against all kinds of attacks. He is the person who can take all your attacks without any worries, so just hit him. Besides, even if he is badly injured, I can always heal him, so don't worry."
"HAHAHA! Holding back? You said your sister was holding back against me? Don't joke around kid! If you are trying to make me worry for no reason, then you have failed."
"See that, sis? He is still very lively despite all your attacks, so it won't be a problem."
Dewi looks at Doni who still seems quite fresh despite taking all her attacks. So she knows that Indra is right and she needs to really go all out now. She takes a deep breath while closing her eyes to compose herself first.
"Fine! Let's do it!"
The shines on her eyes when she opens them look different now. Doni can feel that it will be different this time. Now he thinks that what Indra said wasn't just a bluff, but Dewi really held back before.
Then before he can think further, she appears before him and sends a high kick to his left head. He blocks it, but he gets flung away as he feels this kick is much stronger than before. His arms feel like they will break if he receives that kick 2 or 3 more times.
Now Doni is positive that Indra was in fact, not bluffing. So he needs to be very careful with Dewi's attacks from now on. He even thinks he needs to use his trump card now if he wants to defeat her.
Doni is very focused now, but he still can only barely see Dewi's jump. She just appears in front of him and sends a right hand hook to his left ear. He can sense the impending danger, but his arms can't move that fast to block the hook punch.
"[BLAST!]"
Doni suddenly releases a very powerful shock out of his body. It pushes everything around him away. But Dewi wasn't pushed. Her beastly instinct told her that something was wrong, so she jumped back really far before the shock spread.
"As I thought, this is interesting."
Indra just watches the fight like it's the best entertainment he can get.
