VALENCIA'S POV

"Let me go. If I won't be present there for too long, everyone is going to suspect me and I don't want anyone to come here and -" I paused when I looked down at my situation.

Seeing how my shirt was all undone, I scowled.

My attention was snapped back to him when Maverick suddenly chuckled and I looked back into his crinkling eyes that for some reason made my heart joyful too.

"Don't scowl. I will button them up again," He said casually as if he was my boyfriend or something, and I looked away.

"You don't have to," I started but just like he always dismissed my protests, he dismissed my words and started to button my shirt from the bottom.

Clenching my hands on the desk one more time because of the nervous butterflies in my abdomen, I looked at him when he deliberately rubbed his finger on my exposed stomach.

I looked down, my expression turning a bit sour.
