Melchior "awoke", head throbbing and back hurting. He let out a small groan as he struggled to his feet.

His unconsciousness had lasted for a mere moment from what his body told him, yet he couldn't bring himself to calm down. The sand slid off his cloak and back onto the ground without the need for him to actually make contact with it.

Thoughts of everything that had happened filled his mind.

Massive Dune Serpents. Darkness. Group Ouroborus Ritual… Sylvester.

Slowly, he scanned the new terrain.

It was clearly still underground, from the overhead rock formations lining the sky. But it was nothing like he and the rest had encountered. For one, the sand in this area was far more than what he'd come from.

And another crucial detail had to be taken note of…

There were lights now! This indicated that he was definitely no longer in the massive pit of snakes he'd just been in.
