We had another moment of silence before Evan spoke again. "Hey Norah?" Past me hummed, waiting for him to tell me what he was going to tell me. "I love—" I looked up from my lap where my gaze was fixed and realized past me took her head off of Evan's shoulder and looked at him. I didn't realize what he was going to actually tell me in that moment at the time of this memory, but I knew what it was now. Too bad I didn't realize before now because he changed what he was going to say. "—This lake. It's just so pretty. Do you love it just as much as I do." It was so obvious what he was actually going to say and if I had realized that at the time, I would've made him say it.

"Yeah," past me smiled. "I love it too. Thanks for showing me."

"Mhm." He hummed. I knew that a part of him hoped I would've caught on to what he was trying to originally say.
