Evan furrowed his eyebrows. "Your mom?" He asked, confusion lacing his voice.
I nodded, "Yeah," I shrugged. "I can't get the image of her out of my mind. I've been starting to wonder what she was like; what it would've been like to have her around." I looked down at my hands, my thumbs twiddling were suddenly the most interesting thing ever. Evan placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"She would be proud of the woman you've grown to be," he said, making my lips twitch upward.
"You think?" I looked up at Evan. A small smile spread across his lips.
"I'm positive."
After a couple moments of silence, my head bowed. I looked at my feet as they moved around in the water, creating ripples. I felt someone staring at me and I turned to Evan and smiled. "What?" I asked -not in a rude way though-.
"Nothing," he said and looked away.
I felt the same stare on me after a couple more moments. "What?" I laughed and looked at Evan again.
