DAEVA'S POV

I had always been an outcast. People feared my powers—they saw only destruction in my wake. Even the guards, sworn to protect and serve in Sith Castle, kept their distance from me. Their eyes betrayed their mistrust, as though I might shatter the ground beneath them at any moment. I understood their fear and even shared it once. But that changed the day I met General Cecile.

She was unlike anyone I had ever encountered. Her presence was magnetic, commanding attention and respect, but there was something more—a heaviness in her gaze, a story untold. I didn't know it then, but her past was marred with as much darkness and distrust as my own.

"Do you know why they keep their distance from you, Daeva?" Cecile asked one day, her voice calm but cutting through the tension like a blade.

I hesitated before answering. "Because they think I'm dangerous. They think I'll lose control."
