What a jerk! He succeeded in throwing her emotions out of kilter! Caroline was so furious that she panted heavily. She had really made a mistake here, jumping out of the frying pan into the fire! 

"Don't be angry. You look too adorable when you're angry, and I can't help but want to kiss you," Eddison said calmly in an attractive voice.

Caroline took a deep breath and ignored him. She turned around and faced the table. Then, she picked up her spoon and began to dig in. 

Eddison grinned and petted her head, chiming, "That's my girl..."

Caroline trembled. No one had ever patted her head before. Whenever Eddison did so, she felt like she was being doted on. 

Doted on?

Was he trying to express his affection towards her? 

She must be seriously lacking in love. Maybe that was why she was having such illusions. It had to be.
