Capítulo 112: Chapter 112: Shocking Revelations

Luo Ning had already harbored suspicions about Shanks' motives, and his arrival confirmed them. As expected, Shanks aimed to dissuade him from disrupting the status quo.

The underlying message was clear: don't interfere with the New World order, and leave the Four Emperors untouched. Their demise would shatter the precarious balance, plunging the seas back into chaos.

Luo Ning's arrival in the New World had been marked by the swift elimination of Doflamingo, the supposed "watchdog."

In the original story, Doflamingo's arrest led him to boast about controlling the Four Emperors. However, Luo Ning saw this as nothing more than self-importance; Doflamingo was, at best, a New World gatekeeper.

"This is rather intriguing. What do you mean by the seas becoming chaotic? Do I require your permission for my actions? Weren't these the very things your previous captain initiated?"

"How many have perished indirectly due to Roger's actions, from the dawn of the Great Pirate Era to now?" Luo Ning found amusement in the situation. Did Shanks truly believe himself a peacekeeper, sent specifically to deliver this message?

"While it's true the Captain ushered in the Great Pirate Era, I believe he had his reasons," Shanks conceded after a moment of silence. His voice held a deep respect for Roger, unwilling to hear criticism against him. After all, Shanks had dedicated himself to carrying out Roger's will.

Even with the loss of an arm, Shanks actively recruited Luffy into piracy.

"Really? Tell that to the countless lives lost because of him. Even Roger's own son rejects him."

Luo Ning dropped a bombshell, leaving everyone stunned.

"What?! Captain Roger has a son?!"

A cacophony of surprised voices erupted as the news sunk in.

"Impossible! Why would the Captain keep his son a secret? And after the Marine massacre of pregnant women, wouldn't all potential heirs have been eliminated?"

Shanks reeled in shock. While Roger might have fathered children, the Marines had been ruthless in eliminating any potential offspring and wives.

The ruthlessness of the extinction also struck a nerve with Luo Ning. It was barbaric – the pirate world wasn't about inheriting memories.

Ace, as Roger's son, bore no guilt. Why should a child be burdened by the sins of a father they never knew? Ace wasn't Roger reincarnated. The Marines, while following World Government orders, had resorted to disgusting tactics.

"It's all thanks to his wife. Compared to the reckless Roger, Rouge undoubtedly proved herself a remarkable mother. It's a shame she chose the wrong man."

"After Roger's death, the Marines tightened their grip. Any pregnant women or babies deemed potential heirs were hunted down and eliminated."

"The massacre lasted a horrific ten months, mirroring the ten months of Roger's imprisonment. Through sheer willpower, Rouge managed to prolong her pregnancy for an additional twenty months."

"She flawlessly evaded the Marine massacre. While she gave birth to the child, she also succumbed."

"This mother deserves immense respect. While Roger only receives my scorn, for this mother, I have nothing but respect!"

It's true that before I arrived in this world, there were some online commentators who believed Rouge should have revealed her identity in order to survive. However, this line of thinking is nonsensical. Firstly, Rouge hadn't committed any crimes. The World Government fabricated those accusations, so she had no obligation to come forward.

Secondly, Rouge was pregnant. Many mothers would rather die than be separated from their children. It simply wouldn't have been an option for her.

Did Rouge value her own life? No. Her sole concern was her child's safety. Even if it meant her own demise, she would ensure her child's survival.

The blame for this tragedy lies with Roger, the Marines, and the World Government. An innocent mother and her unborn child shouldn't have been subjected to such brutality.

There's one final point to consider. Even if Rouge had come forward, would the Marines have believed her? From their perspective, it could have been a ploy by Roger.

They might have believed Rouge was a pregnant woman used by Roger to manipulate them into protecting his child. Therefore, even if she had spoken up, it wouldn't have made a difference. They would have killed her anyway.

"So that explains it. This is truly momentous news. Who is this child?"

Shanks yearned to learn the identity of Roger's son, but none within Roger's crew possessed that knowledge.

Roger himself had devised a clever strategy. He knew the Marines would scrutinize his crew, and any sudden appearance of a pregnant woman or baby would undoubtedly attract their murderous attention.

Therefore, Roger entrusted his child to Garp. Garp, a Marine with a strong sense of justice and a bond of friendship with Roger, would be inclined to help. Roger's plan proved effective.

"Why disclose that information to you?" Luo Ning countered with amusement, effectively shutting down the topic.

His silence left Shanks feeling utterly frustrated. He likely intended to use force to coerce someone into revealing the child's identity, but with Luo Ning as the obstacle, that avenue was firmly blocked. An oppressive silence descended upon the room, thick enough to hear a pin drop.

"Very well, perhaps ignorance is bliss in this case. At least it ensures the child's safety. Now, Mr. Luo Ning, please reconsider my earlier proposition. This sea is teetering on the brink of chaos!"

Shanks circled back to his initial goal, urging Luo Ning to cease his disruptive actions in the New World. With Doflamingo, the supposed watchdog, eliminated, Shanks feared Luo Ning's next move could have even greater ramifications.
