Capítulo 13: Dungeon (Part 4)

The door slowly opens, revealing a huge room, which looked like a throne room from a castle.

It was very high, so high that it gave the illusion that there is no roof. The walls were adorned with jewels that seemed like moonlight in a clear night.

There was a red carpet leading straight to the throne, which was at a height higher than where the five were standing.

Then there were multiple creatures, all five of the students noticed a huge number of C-Rank monsters, quite a few low B-Rank monsters and finally, the boss, which looked like high B-Rank, maybe even close to approaching A-Rank.

The Boss was a big skeleton, sitting on its throne at the other side of the room. Its eyes were shining red, giving off an intimidating presence, triggering the instinct to flee in any being that looked at them.

Monsters were lined up, as if they were going to fight a war. It looked like a battle formation. Everyone noticed that quite a few monsters had weapons, although it is hard to appraise weapons just by looking at them, they were sure that all of those weapons were at least D-Rank.

Sukuna noticed a few mages at the very back of the formation, possibly for ranged attacks. He also noticed a few archers hidden in the shadows near the walls.

He turned to his teammates and pointed to the mages at the back, then at himself. He then pointed to Anny and Alexia, then back to the door they came in from, then to Johan and Ryogaku, and finally, to the monsters at the very front. They all got the message and nodded.

The four showed not any hesitance as they got ready to move at any time.

Sukuna, though, was a bit anxious. This was his first big battle in both of his lives. Even though the threat of death is always looming on him in the form of quests, he felt his heartbeat grow much faster at the sight of the boss.

He was in physical danger for the first time, facing monsters that might kill him, there is a small chance, but they just might.

He thought about his unlocked abilities and even having Reversed Cursed Techniques, which calmed him down a bit.

His gaze became sharp and he readied himself.

.

Time seemed to have stopped, neither the monsters, nor the five students were moving, all of the monsters' eyes locked onto the five, while the five stared straight into the eyes of the boss.

The skeleton king was the first to make a move, he slowly raised his right hand, which caused many D-Rank skeletons to appear, seemingly from the shadows.

'Necromancer', all five thought.

After this action, half of the monsters in the room charged at them.

The five immediately started to move, Anny and Alexia backed out, moving towards the door they came from, which was now closed, intending to provide support from the back.

Alexia put enhancements on Ryogaku and Johan, both of whom started charging towards the monsters attacking them, killing them with decisive, calculated blows.

While Sukuna enhanced his feet with Cursed Energy and dashed to the back of the formation, slashing any monster in his way with his Cursed Knife.

Sukuna meant to kill all the mages and archers to stop the healing and support of the mob and clean up those monsters afterwards.

He held the knife tightly in his right hand, which was continuously being fed Cursed Energy, slashing the mages with it, which his left hand was moving quickly from left to right, producing Dismantles that killed off any monsters that dared to come near him.

'Oh? What's this?'

'Every time I kill a summoned mage, the amount of mana the boss has seems to be increasing'

.

With one final slash, the last mage was killed, causing the injuries of other monsters to be left unhealed. Next, he went to the archers that were hidden in all places, behind pillars, or even on a few hidden rooms behind paintings.

He went to all of them, one by one, killing each one. All of them were undead archers, so it was quite easy as they are pretty low-ranked.

After killing the archers, he saw his teammates doing pretty well, close to killing half of the monsters. But then, he notices the boss, it didn't even move, nor did it even flinch when its subordinates were being killed.

It should at least provide some support to the battle formation, or it will completely break. Was it confident, or just dumb?

The boss was looking right at Sukuna, as if tying to gauge his true strength.

'Seems like I have piqued his interest huh?'

Thinking that his teammates had the mob of monsters covered, he rushed towards the boss, creating a little plan in his mind.

'First, I thought that this was literally Overlord, but seems like its not, the boss doesn't have a core like our favorite skeleton does, so I guess it like I have to shatter his bones.'

'It is a Necromancer, and most of them aren't good at hand to hand combat, so I'll just pull him and PUNCH'

'I know it's not going to be that easy, but this is the outline of the plan, I sure hope he doesn't have some hidden technique or some trump card.'

Congratulations, you have jinxed yourself.

.

Sukuna ran towards the boss, readying his knife for a slash right down its skull.

'This knife amplifies Cursed Energy, and creates a slash. But the power of the slash decreases in power as it travels a longer distance.'

'Using it on distances more than 10 meters is useless, as the power of the slash at 10 meters is the same as if I did a Dismantle.'

'But, if the distance is zero, then how much is the Cursed Energy amplified?'

'The answer is . . .

by Three Times'

.

Sukuna put a lot of strength and Cursed Energy on this slash, hoping to just cut the monster into two, but that is not what happened.

The knife was . . .
