Regardless of whether or not she fell in love with him, it was still going to be dangerous, and the closer they got to that time, the more he couldn't help but think about it.

"I'd rather it didn't come down to that," she said, shutting her eyes. She wanted to step backward, but the idea that something might be behind her stopped her.

"Are you scared of the dark?" he asked.

"No, but the tunnels are scary. There are lizards, and not to mention the ghosts."

"They won't dare attack, not while I'm here. And as for the ghosts, they won't get to us here," he said, pulling her with him as he started walking. "As long as you don't move any talisman."

"That was a mistake," she said with a pout and bowed her head.
