Capítulo 54: 52. Smoker Can't Stand It Anymore!
As Al and the others continued to question Yale about the mastermind pulling the strings, Tom's showdown with Smoker intensified!
As Tom maneuvered through the thick smoke, he unleashed an array of smoke-formed weapons at Smoker!
Although these weapons didn't inflict physical harm on Smoker, they proved to be quite bothersome.
Meanwhile, during their relentless battle, Smoker was astonished to discover that he couldn't absorb the smoke!
Not only could Smoker not absorb the smoke, but as it kept seeping into his body, he felt his movements slowing down gradually!
"Dammit! What's happening to me?" Smoker cursed under his breath.
With cold eyes, Smoker glared at Tom, who was mocking him with a smirk, a sudden surge of anger rising within him.
Tom couldn't help but smirk as he successfully provoked Smoker with his antics.
Dodging yet another of Smoker's attacks, Tom summoned a suit of armor from the swirling smoke.
Fully equipped, Tom closed his eyes serenely, spread his arms wide, and leaped down from above.
Smoker, observing from below, furrowed his brows slightly, unable to discern Tom's intentions.
Nevertheless, he recognized this as a prime opportunity!
Without hesitation, Smoker tightened his grip on his weapon, prepared to strike Tom down!
Just as Tom was about a meter away from Smoker's attack, a white rope attached to Tom's armor caught the attention of onlookers.
"Is that cat trying to mimic Colonel Smoker?"
"Watch out, remove the question! It's clearly a Colonel Smoker imitation!"
"Oh, and by the way, does your cat enjoy wearing fancy attire?"
"You fool, perish!" Smoker shouted angrily.
But just as Tom was about to collide with Smoker's weapon...
A sudden strong tug yanked Tom back into the air!
"Aha~" Tom exclaimed playfully.
As Tom soared through the air, he placed his paws on either side of his mouth, opening it wide.
Then, he stuck out his tongue and taunted Smoker with a mischievous grin.
Observing the scene from atop the smoke column, Spike was inspired by Tom's antics.
He hastily improvised a continuous-firing tennis ball throwing machine.
Taking aim at Smoker, Spike unleashed a barrage of tennis balls with gleeful abandon.
"Curse you!" Smoker exclaimed furiously.
Provoked beyond measure, Smoker lost control of his emotions, swinging his weapon and launching a fierce attack against them!
Tom and Spike exchanged glances before pulling out an array of weapons from the smoke column, engaging Smoker in combat on the ground.
Witnessing this peculiar spectacle, bystanders couldn't help but gape in astonishment.
Observing Tom and Spike bravely confronting Smoker with smoke-formed weapons, someone exclaimed, "Are the cat and the dog challenging Colonel Smoker, who ate the Smoke-Smoke Fruit, using weapons made of smoke?"
"Who's the one who ate the Smoke-Smoke Fruit?"
"Your cat..."
"Unbelievable!"
In the blink of an eye, Smoker engaged in a hundred-move battle against a cat and a dog!
Tom was drenched in sweat, resembling someone who had just exited a sauna, panting heavily and clumsily dodging Smoker's relentless attacks!
Spike was nearly exhausted, teetering on the edge of fatigue, though he fared slightly better than Tom.
Meanwhile, Smoker, despite his slightly slowed movements, remained unfazed.
In just a matter of minutes, the cat and the dog managed to dismantle Smoker's defenses countless times.
Yet, no matter how many times they broke him down, Smoker swiftly regenerated.
"Why... is this not sufficient?"
"It's foolish to even dream of venturing into the Grand Line looking like that!" Smoker declared, preparing to deliver the finishing blow.
A sudden idea struck Tom.
With a shake of his head, Tom's previously downcast expression vanished entirely.
In a swift motion, Tom produced a massive vacuum cleaner, approximately five meters in diameter, from behind him, aiming it directly at Smoker's forehead.
In response, Spike emitted a surprisingly human-like laugh: "Eh ha ha ha ha!"
While still chuckling, Spike swiftly pressed the start switch.
In a split second, Smoker reacted with impeccable timing, just as he was about to deactivate his elemental form!
Instantly, he reduced his own size, then utilized Soru to swiftly escape.
Despite Smoker's already impressive reaction speed, when confronted with the immense vacuum cleaner, all hopes of evasion vanished!
"Cursed... cat!!!" Smoker's cry of frustration echoed through the air as he was sucked in.
Observing the tumultuous battle from the ground, the sailors couldn't help but gasp in disbelief, their expressions tinged with despair.
"Colonel Smoker, the battle is lost..."
"Is this... the end?"

Enveloped by the powerful suction, Smoker was drawn into the pipe, eventually reaching a massive transparent container at the vacuum cleaner's end.
As soon as Smoker entered, the once clear container turned opaque white.
Observing the vigorously shaking vacuum cleaner, Spike wasted no time and confidently perched himself atop it.
Joining in the shaking motion, Spike chuckled gleefully.
Observing Spike's antics, Tom shook his head disapprovingly, producing a plethora of bottles and jars from behind.
"Pepper, paprika, mustard, cumin, BBQ seasoning..."
"Tom, what plan do you have in mind?" Spike inquired, licking his lips in anticipation.
However, Tom shook his head in response and silently activated the vacuum cleaner's switch button.
Under Spike's panicked gaze, all the bottles and jars' contents were swiftly poured into the vacuum cleaner! (T/N: RIP)
