Capítulo 11: Chapter 11 Abducted

"Your parents are nice," Rowan said as they drove through the night. "Ya, they are. I'm lucky to have them," Selena said, changing lanes on the highway. "They thought we were together," Rowan added awkwardly, scratching his chin. "Ya, they did." Selena replied, her eyes glued to the road as her hands tightened on the wheel. "Do you hate that?" she asked nervously, her foot twitching to brake as she waited for his answer. "No, no," he stutters out, shaking his head. "Good." Selena exhaled and relaxed her grip on the wheel. "I'm you, mate?" he asked quietly as they drove. "Maybe. I don't know. I don't want to talk about this." Selena avoids the question. "Okay," Rowan concedes, dropping the conversation as they fell back into silence.

Driving off the exit and into the city, the two of them headed for home. Pulling into the parking garage, the two of them exited the car. "Let's get inside and get some sleep," Selena said, holding the door open for Rowan as he went inside. "Okay, I'm going to head straight to bed," Rowan said, yawning as he stretched his arms. "Me too," Selena said, locking the door behind them. "Goodnight, Selena," Rowan said, making his way to the couch. "Goodnight, Rowan," Selena said, going to to the bathroom to change her clothes. She collapsed into her bed with a sigh, her mind racing with thoughts of Rowan. She whispered into the darkness. "What should I do? What do I want to do?" Her mind tumbles over itself as she drifts off to sleep.

In the eerie silence of the dead of night, an abandoned construction site looms as shadows crawl through it. A heavy thud hits the ground with a gust of wind as the shadow of a figure lands on the ground. "What do you want, Zarek?" the figure growls out towards a shadow that morphs into a tall, lurking man. "I have an offer," he says with a smirk on his face. "Not interested; I don't trust warlocks," the figure spits out with contempt. "Really, you're not interested in knowing what happened to your wife and daughter?" Zarek tempted him with. The figure let out a roar and pounced on top of Zarek, his clawed fist ready to rip his head off, when Zarek vanished in smoke and mist, reappearing behind him. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," he said, his eyes glowing red as he stared down at the beastly figure.

The figure stood, his massive claws and sharp teeth bared, as he growled at Zarek. "Fine, tell me," he said, his voice low and threatening as he backed off. "Now, Draven, a favor for a favor," Zarek stated at the figure as it stepped into the moonlight, reveling a hulking werewolf standing as tall as a bear with scars all along his body. The main scar was one on the left side of his face that extended from his snout down his neck and torso to his hip, his fur a dark brown peppered with grey. "FINE!" Draven snaps, "Name the favor."

"I need a boy; he is being protected by a hunter, a shapeshifter named Selena." Zarek informs Draven, "Why?" he asks, "That is none of your concern." Zarek counters, "Whatever, I will find the boy and bring him to you." Draven agrees, "Now tell me what you know of their disappearance." Draven demands, "That's simple; I have them." Zarek says, "What!?" Draven roars, charging at Zarek, who dissipates into mist again, leaving the crazed werewolf to slash at nothing but air. "Listen, you animal, you'll get them back as soon as I get the boy," Zarek reiterates, vanishing into the shadows. "Damn Warlocks!" Draven rages. Draven looks up at the moon high in the sky, his rage subsiding as he looks at the shining moon. He starts to howl a hunting tune fills the night as more howls join in.

Selena wakes with a start, her nose twitching as it fills with scents unknown to her, a deep growl rumbling in her chest as she realizes what it is. "Shit, Rowan." She screams, jumping out of bed to an empty living room. Rowan missing the window wide open. "Shit, fucking mutts," she yells, running to her closest pulling out a sliver sword and dressing in a pitch black cat suit made from her own fur. Rushing out of the apartment, she follows the scent of the abductors, her form shifting into a sleek, black panther with blazing green eyes as she runs through the night, following the scent of the werewolves.

"Let go of me," Rowan grunted, trying to fight off the strength of the giant humanoid wolf holding on to him. "Stop struggling, or I will hurt you," her voice growled out. "The leader said not to hurt him," another one said, stopping the one holding him. "Fine," she says, tossing him to the ground. Rowan looks around him at the pack of werewolves surrounding him in the large room. His head starts to spin from the strong smell of damp dogs all around him. In a panic, he pulls out the small dagger from his waist he has kept on him since the vampire attack. "Put that down before you hurt yourself, boy," a deep voice sounded out as the pack split in the middle, a hulking figure walking in to Rowans view. Rowan froze in fear as the beast approached him. "Who are you?" he screamed out, clutching the blade tightly. "Draven, the leader of this pack," he answered, stepping closer to the shaking Rowan. "What do you want with me?" Rowan whimpered, pressing his back against a wall and keeping the dagger pointed at the massive beast.

Draven lunges forward with blinding speed, swiping the blade from Rowan's hand and lifting him into the air with one hand. Rowan kicks and flails at the giant wolf, who just snarls, dropping him on the floor with a painful thump. "I don't want to hurt you, boy." Draven's voice reverberated around the room, making Rowan feel tiny. "But you're going to stay here until a certain warlock comes for you," Draven informs him. Rowan just stayed silent, glaring at the beastly man in front of him. "Take him to a cell; the hunter will be here soon." Draven ordered his pack as they grabbed Rowan, dragging him down into a basement as he struggled against their grips. They tossed him into a cold, concrete cell, slamming the metal door closed behind them, leaving him alone in the darkness.

"It just had to be Draven's pack," Selena muttered, turning back to humans in front of the old construction site. Walking into the building, she yells, "Draven, what are you doing, kidnapping a human under the council's protection?" A deep, throaty chuckle bounces off the walls from a corner as the leader of the werewolf pack emerges. "Selena, long time?" he said with a smirk. "Not long enough; now give me back the boy," Selena said as Draven approached her. "Just stay away, Selena; take it as a warning from an old friend," he said, inching closer to her. "Warning from an old friend, my ass, just give the boy back and I'll leave," she hissed at the older werewolf as he shook his head. "Sorry, I can't do that because Zarek has my family," he admitted while Selena snarled. "You idiot trusting a dark warlock," she yelled at his foolishness, her hand going toward her sword, knowing she couldn't rely on her panther form.

"Are you really going to try and fight my whole pack for a stupid mission?" He taunts, sensing the unease in her posture as she reaches for her weapon. "You're wrong. Its not for a mission, Rowan is mine," she corrects him. Draven was taken aback by the conviction in her words: "Finally found your mate, little cat?" He taunted, "Yes, and you stole him," she countered, her eyes narrowing on the werewolf's large frame. Draven just stood looking at Selena, his eyes narrowing, before cursing. "Fuck. Fucking god, damn warlocks," he spat out. "Bring the boy back out," he orders his pack. "Come on, boy, time to get back to your cat," the she-wolf said as she opened the cage and led him back up the stairs, where Selena and Draven were waiting. "If I had hurt you, my wife would have ripped my head off," Draven growled to Selena. "Suck it up, buttercup," she said as she grabbed Rowan's arm and pulled him into her arms.
