When Jylan woke up, there was a dull pounding in his head, and the air around him was dusty. He swallowed, realizing his throat was dry, and also that Sebastian was slouched right next to him, with his head resting on the butler's shoulder.
"This is funny. I was a butler, then you were a butler, we were both butlers and now we're both tied up next to each other. Aren't the lines between worlds so thin?" Jylan asked, trying to stay calm. It felt better to have someone to talk to. He looked around to see what looked like the storage room of his house, or, the loft. Cleaning supplies were scattered all around the room, from mops to rags, and there was a bright red wardrobe in the corner.
Right. This was Jylan's house. He had sold it for extra money while becoming a duke. Even better, someone had bought it for about 20 times its worth - something that had come as a shock to Jylan - and that sale was the reason he had enough money to start becoming a duke.
Jylan sighed loudly and noticed that Sebastian flinched. then opened his eyes. "Ah. Are you awake, Sebastian?" Jylan asked, and the prince blinked, then said groggily, "It's Prince Sebastian to you, you-" he cursed, and Jylan sighed. The prince had not changed an inch. "My Prince, do you know where we are?" The prince now looked around and said, instantly, "Jylan, isn't this your cottage?" Jylan now shifted slightly and sighed. "Yes, I sold it a while back…" Sebastian blinked. "Why?" He asked, and Jylan looked at him.
"Why? I'll do anything for you, My Prince."
Sebastian turned red and suddenly sat up. "I-It doesn't matter. Why are we here?" And then, the door creaked open, accidentally knocking a mop to the floor, and both of them turned. The floorboards creaked. There was a moment of stunned silence, and then Sebastian blinked.
"Hey! YOU! I've seen you before!"
