Crazy Combine.
It was a skill with enormous potential, one that was capable of elevating even the most insignificant item to something of great value, it was also how Shiva had obtained Echo's retribution, the flail that he is still using.
The skill could be used on anything as long as the initial materials used were of the same type and were non-living. And that included the skeleton summons too.
However, Shiva refrained from using it on the skeletons due to the inherent instability of the resulting combined form.
He had tried it many times in his past life, but the resulting form of the combination of skeletons was highly unstable and these creations could only maintain their shape for a short period, proving to be more of a liability than an asset.
But for the doppelganger, whose sole mission was to defeat Shiva, this drawback was inconsequential.
"<Grrr...Grr>"
As the doppelganger muttered something incomprehensible, the orc skeletons began merging together after shedding their skin.
"Same as ever, huh?"
Shiva in his previous life hadn't fully grasped the potential of Crazy Combine until observing the doppelganger's actions.
The massive orc skeleton that was formed by combining the orc skeletons was formidable enough to be comparable to the corruption giant.
In a previous encounter, Shiva had struggled against the massive for, and without any choice, he had used Crazy Combine on his skeletons, creating a similar skeletal giant to defeat the giant skeleton summoned by the doppelganger.
However, that led to Shiva finding himself alone and vulnerable in the next wave, ultimately leading him to give up on the tenth wave.
But in this life, that was not a problem!
Because to face the giant skeleton summoned by the doppelganger, he had his own meat shield, one that was far sturdier than the unstable skeleton.
"Show him who's the boss."
Shiva encouraged the Corruption Giant, increasing the already excited look on its face.
Without wasting any time, the giant pounced on the giant skeleton abomination, which looked similar to the orc skeletons in appearance but was much stronger and bigger in size.
While the Corruption Giant would be dealing with the giant skeleton, Shiva concentrated his attention on the doppelganger itself.
There, standing behind the giant skeleton, the doppelganger wielded a different skill, one that Shiva did not possess.
"<Gr...Gr..>"
The blood dripping down the doppelganger's face rose up and danced at the tip of its hand, and the blood that the monsters had spilled during their previous battles also surged forward.
"Blood magic, huh?"
Shiva noted as the doppelganger unleashed its true power. The blood swirled around it, forming hundreds of deadly droplets that hovered menacingly.
"Grrr.r.r...," the doppelganger snarled, sending the blood droplets hurtling toward Shiva at incredible speed.
But Shiva stood firm. "Block it."
At his command, the hobgoblin lord skeletons stepped forward, using their massive shields to intercept the blood bullets. Yet, to their surprise, the droplets altered their course, twisting around the shields to target Shiva.
However, Shiva had already moved. "Looking for me?" His voice echoed amidst the summons, as the spiked head of Echo's Retribution greeted the doppelganger's gaze.
Blood spilled as the doppelganger flew back, Shiva smiled as he sat atop the fire wolf skeleton, retracting the chain connected to his flail. However, before the doppelganger could hit the ground, it twisted in mid-air, and the spilled blood flew at Shiva.
Although Shiva spotted the blood spikes coming at him, he was slightly late to react, and they grazed his cheek.
With a thud, the doppelganger landed a few meters away, and Shiva retreated back.
"You're as good as ever," Shiva remarked, pleased to see his second apostle's abilities remain formidable.
Meanwhile, the Corruption Giant and the massive orc skeleton were locked in combat.
Two of Aghora's hands clashed against the skeleton's, while the other two gripped its skull.
"Grhhhhhaaa!" The Corruption Giant roared, neither side gaining the upper hand. Then, with a surge of rage, the Corruption Giant brought down its head with tremendous force, striking the skeletal summon's skull.
The bones rattled, and cracks appeared on its skull, smeared with the Corruption Giant's black blood. Yet, neither combatant showed any sign of yielding.
Observing the brawl, Shiva dismounted from the fire wolf skeleton.
"I seem to have grown stronger than I realized," he mused. If he struggled this much against the doppelganger, it meant he was formidable indeed.
In his past life, the doppelganger had appeared as the 9th wave's monster, yet now it emerged in the 8th round. With two more waves to clear, Shiva couldn't afford to deplete his resources here. He needed to defeat the doppelganger swiftly.
"I have no other option," Shiva muttered, dropping his flail and seizing the spear from the centaur's skeleton.
"Let's end this."
Taking a stance, Shiva breathed deeply, drawing immense energy into his being. Closing his eyes, he focused as an intense aura enveloped his spear.
"Death Demon Style..."
With a fluid motion, Shiva brought his spear forward with incredible speed. Mana surged around the spear as he unleashed the first move.
"First move, <Death Pierce>"
The spear shot forth with unstoppable force, its trajectory guided by a surge of mana. Before the doppelganger could react, the attack engulfed it, bringing an end to the confrontation.
