Chong Jiu's face turned cold with anger, "My senior brothers sacrificed their lives to seal the evil spirits. How can they be compared to those people?"
Hearing this, Nanli tilted her head slightly, "Bring him in."
A maid quickly led Chong Ba into the room.
Chong Ba, dressed neatly but with a vacant expression, was fixated on the pastries the maid was holding. When the pastries were set on the table, Chong Ba lunged at them and began eating with his hands.
The maid was startled, but Nanli waved her hand dismissively, "It's fine. Bring a chair for him to sit on."
The maid breathed a sigh of relief and did as she was told.
Chong Jiu, initially unable to recognize Chong Ba, eventually did after a closer look. His eyes widened in shock, and his breath caught.
