The flickering fire cast a warm glow in Grey's humble dwelling. Our simple dinner concluded, wooden swords leaned against the wall, bearing witness to the bond forming between apprentice and mentor.
I watched Grey, curiosity gleaming in his eyes. "Master, have you been to other places? What's out there?"
Chewing thoughtfully, I shared glimpses of the world beyond. "Beyond these mountains, you'd find all sorts. Ancient ruins, untold secrets, and humans. Some are kind, but others... not so much."
Grey's eyes widened with interest. "Really? What do you mean?"
I chuckled, reminiscing. "Humans can be tricky. Some are good-hearted, while others are driven by greed. It's a different challenge out there."
Curiosity sparked in Grey. "And your past, Master? You must have faced a lot."
Nostalgia colored my expression. "Ah, my past. A mix of victories and defeats, like everyone's. Each setback taught me something. But let me tell you, the real challenges aren't always magical. Dealing with people and their intentions can be just as tricky."
Grey nodded, absorbing the wisdom. "So, it's not just about magical threats."
I grinned. "Exactly. As you venture beyond, remember, magic isn't the only thing to watch out for. Human nature is quite the puzzle. Be ready for all kinds."
With dinner concluded, the fire's glow dimmed, we both stood. "Goodnight, Master," Grey said, the firelight reflecting in his golden eyes.
"Goodnight, Grey," I replied, my gaze filled with mentorship and genuine care.
As the wooden door closed, leaving only the quiet glow of embers, I reflected on the lessons ahead. In the serenity of Frostwood, the whispers of the mountain night cradled us, mentor and apprentice, in a blanket of tranquil slumber.
