Capítulo 2: Reincarnated
"Ahh! What happened?"
I looked around the area, and I seemed to be deep in a forest. You know, the typical kind you'd see in the opening of a show or whatever. Towering trees, majestic birdsong, glimmering sunlight and so on. What had happened last night? I remember getting a sketchy email... but after that, everything went black. Did it take me here? Was I kidnapped? How do I even get back?!
There's not much to see. Lots of trees, and it's quite dark and damp. It seems I can barely see a few feet in front of me, and my ears are ringing with the sounds of various cries from different animals. There were probably no other people nearby.
─ Welcome to the world of One Piece
─ Thank you for accepting this request. As promised, you may choose a devil fruit of your choice!
"What the heck was that?" I muttered, looking around again. There was nobody near me, yet a voice echoed throughout my head. "One piece? A system? No way... Wait I didn't accept any of this!! Take me back!"
─ What devil fruit would you like to obtain?
"Hey! Tell me what's going on first! Is this a prank? Where am I? Why can I hear you?" I shouted at the sky. The voice did not respond. "Damn..."
I looked around for a bit again. If this was real, I could easily be eaten by some animal or whatever. It really did seem legit. The trees, the lighting and the subtle sounds couldn't have been from a dream nor a simple prank.
I thought for a moment and decided to go with it. "Hey, at least show me what devil fruits I can choose."
─ Would you like to view the catalog of devil fruits available to you?
"Yeah, yeah."
─ Here is the list of fruits that are available.
The screen then turned into a list of about 50 different devil fruits. Although it was a long time since I had watched the anime, I knew that none of the devil fruits were a part of then show. I was honestly not happy about having to choose one, knowing that I might regret it later. I didn't know how long I would be staying here, or if there was even a way to return. Besides, I probably couldn't eat more than a single fruit. So, I took my time to read through all of them.
"Arrhhh!! Got damn, it's so hard to choose..."
─ Would you like to take a test to see which devil fruit fits you?
"Oh, thank god, yes."
─ Please wait.
─ First question: Would you rather fight in close combat, use ranged attacks, or a combination?
"Hmm, I dunno. Being able to do both is great. I think I'll say combination."

"Hmm. Complex ones, I suppose."

"Both are fine. But I guess I'll pick the spotlight."

"Can't go wrong with logia. I'd be invulnerable to people without decent haki. Besides, they're overall pretty powerful. I think I'll choose that."

"What? That's so random... Umm... I guess I'll go with 10. Hopefully that stood for power."
