Capítulo 112: Chapter 112: The Guinea Pig Colin Creevey

Under the purification of pure flames, these magical materials gradually lost their original shapes, melting into a liquid that flickered with an unusual glow.

Lynn raised his hand, adding a crystal the size of a Rubik's cube and a strip of bronze about a foot long to imbue this alchemical product with a vessel.

Unlike the alchemy for the Divine Authority, this time the alchemical glasses did not need to create an entirely new material, but only to bestow the special properties carried by the magical materials onto an existing vessel.

Under Lynn's control of the flames, that strange liquid merged into the crystal and bronze, which continuously shapeshifted until finally forming a pair of exquisite glasses.

These alchemical glasses were made entirely of crystal, with bronze used for the connections. Strange magical lights flickered across their surface, and Lynn could see several natural alchemical inscriptions on them.

With this, the legal alchemy was completed. Next, Lynn needed to add an alchemical formation to enhance their ability to provide immunity against the Killing Curse and petrification.

Unlike common alchemy, this time the alchemical glasses required inscriptions with attributes like "immunity", "curse resistance", "magic resistance" and "spell rebound" - fields of rather advanced alchemy. Even in the French wizarding world, only top-tier master alchemists could create such formations.

Otherwise, the magical world would not lack alchemical products capable of defending against dark magic.

In the original story, the reason the Defensive Cloaks and Hats invented by the Weasley twins were so popular was because there was a lack of similar products on the market, allowing the Weasleys' defensive line to dominate.

Lynn slowly exhaled, dispelling the flames before him. He grabbed the unfinished alchemical glasses with one hand.

Swish! A carving knife shimmering with a silvery-white light appeared in Lynn's palm - the secret silver knife he had personally alchemized two years ago.

Although Lynn had long since learned how to create alchemical formations from nothing, for such an extremely difficult formation he needed to apply his full focus and utmost diligence when inscribing it onto these prototypical glasses.

After two years of training, Lynn could create an offensive alchemical formation in just two minutes from thin air, let alone using the secret silver knife!

The Lynn of today was far from the one who needed a week just to make an enchanted dagger for his mother Rowena two years ago.

Lynn spent the entire afternoon doing alchemy in his dorm room, skipping even the evening feast. If he didn't happen to have no classes today, people might have thought he had gone missing!

"Finally succeeded!" After making the last cut to connect all the magic circuits, Lynn finally smiled and picked up the alchemical glasses.

Lynn murmured an incantation, causing a golden glow to briefly shine across the glasses' surface. Accompanying this glow, the alchemical inscriptions on the surface concealed themselves within, invisible to outside eyes.

"Although they likely can block the Basilisk's Killing Curse and petrification, until actual testing, nothing is conclusive!"

Lynn put on the glasses carefully, sensing the magical power emanating from them. He became confident they could immunize against all curses and dark magic he knew of besides Fiendfyre, even reflecting some weaker offensive spells.

But the Basilisk's Killing Curse and petrification were entirely new realms he had never encountered before. The unknown meant uncertainty, and as a rigorous alchemist, a 1% success rate was no different from 99% before real-world testing confirmed the product's efficacy. After all, practice makes perfect!

"If I'm not mistaken, the next victim of the Basilisk incident should be Harry's little fanboy Colin Creevey, sometime after the Quidditch match. Hmm, if so then this should be easy..."

Lynn seemed to have an idea as he grabbed the alchemical glasses and left the Slytherin dorms.

The feast had likely just ended, so if he hurried he could probably catch Irina. Lynn thought to himself as he quickly descended the stairs to the Great Hall.

Sure enough, Irina had just stood up and was about to return to the Gryffindor common room with Hermione and the others.

"Come with me, Irina," Lynn said as he approached, glancing at Harry's group.

Sensing Lynn's serious demeanor, Irina realized it must be something important.

She nodded at Lynn, then said to the trio, "I'm going with Lynn for a bit, you three head back first. I'll return later."

Hearing this, Hermione gave Irina a meaningful look and said, "Go on then."

So Irina left the Great Hall with Lynn.

"Didn't Irina used to call him 'Senior Rowle'? Her way of addressing him seems closer now," Harry wondered.

Hermione giggled, "It's normal, a young girl probably just hit puberty..."

Ron's eyes went wide. "Hermione, are you saying Irina...she..."

Hermione waved a hand. "I didn't say anything! Maybe they're just good friends like us, since Irina hasn't admitted anything yet."

...

Meanwhile, Lynn and Irina arrived at their usual hangout - the disused classroom.

"Irina, could you please pass these glasses to Colin Creevey? And make sure he absolutely wears them for the Quidditch match this weekend without taking them off no matter what!"

Lynn solemnly handed the alchemical glasses to Irina.

Confused, Irina asked, "Colin Creevey? The little Gryffindor boy who's always taking pictures of Harry? Why him? And what are these glasses for?"

Lynn explained the glasses' purpose and why he wanted to give them to Colin.

Irina felt conflicted. "But doesn't that make Colin a guinea pig for an experiment? That doesn't seem quite right..."

Hearing this, Lynn chuckled. "Well, I am a Slytherin after all. To achieve my goals, I'll use any means necessary. Besides, even without my intervention, Colin would still be petrified at the Quidditch match."
