I step out of my car, tucking strands on my hair falling over my face behind one ear. I’m in Killian’s house. The brat accepted the bait and invited me over. I know it’s not her fault for being gullible but how ignorant can someone actually be to not notice anything shady about the one she’s in a relationship with? My goodness!

At least there should’ve been something bizarre Killian must’ve done to hint that he’s not your regular man. Or not. I don’t know him like that anymore. I shrug.

Hazel is either stupid, or Killian is just as good as hiding stuff as ever. Whichever it is, they both work in my benefit. I notice my legs quiver when I try to take a step forward. An uneasy gulp painfully slid down my throat.

I lower my gaze to fall on my hand. My fingers are shaking. So I’m still brazen, huh?

Being here makes my body freeze. Killian’s words have been replaying in my mind since he threatened me yesterday. My heart begins to beat faster in my chest.
