Capítulo 201: Dead To the Sect (2)

"After that was basically aftermath and cleanup. I spent basically the entire ride back to the sect processing everything that had happened. There was one other thing though. Before we left for the Sealed Lands, Shokoya gave me a package, saying it was a Library book and to return it for him if he died. I think his original plan was to die at Lu Bao's hands. 

From some other things he told me that night, I think he believed that doing so would give his soul to the Cat faction's control, somehow—he thinks that the resurrection process we were offered binds our souls, the souls of Outworlders, in some way to the Dimension Governors, and he said that they can't give him what he wants, or something. It's still a pretty loose theory. Only now, he's joined up with them without having his soul bound to anyone...well, so far. 

Anyway, I'd long forgotten all about the package until the ride back…it turned out to be this."
