Capítulo 127: Oh no, I've been exposed

"You..."

"I didn't mean to! I just exerted a bit too much force. He insisted on running to the bathroom, although he could have just escaped."

Before Takayuki could inquire about the situation, Sayuri blurted everything out.

Let's rewind the story to about two hours ago.

At that time, Sayuri was eating some fast food she bought on the way and watching TV dramas alone in front of the TV.

She wasn't sure when Takayuki would be back. All she knew was that he was supposed to be filming content for the upcoming gaming conference.

She initially planned to go with him, but now that both the SFC and GB gaming consoles needed to be released simultaneously, both engineering teams were continuously debugging and testing to prevent any serious bugs.

The complexity of the two gaming consoles far exceeded that of the early Famicom. Any problems could directly affect their reputation. Takayuki was very strict about this, so Sayuri had to accompany the team for continuous debugging.

While watching TV and eating noodles, Sayuri was actually quite absent-minded. She couldn't even remember what was playing on TV.

Was it a romance drama? Or a suspense thriller?

That wasn't the point.

All Sayuri could think about at that time was when Takayuki would come back.

So they could enjoy playing video games together.

Only when playing electronic games together did Sayuri feel close to Takayuki.

She really liked that feeling.

As she was lost in her thoughts, suddenly there was a rustling sound from upstairs.

At first, Sayuri didn't take it seriously.

But then, a loud noise startled her. She immediately ran upstairs, hearing hurried footsteps as well.

At that moment, Sayuri hadn't realized that it was a burglary.

She was actually thinking it might be Takayuki.

She felt quite happy thinking that.

Without hesitation, she opened the door where the sound was coming from.

However, what greeted her was a gleaming dagger.

In that instant, Sayuri's defensive instincts kicked in. She grabbed the hand holding the dagger and threw the person over her shoulder with tremendous force.

The person wielding the dagger was thrown out directly.

The structure of Takayuki's house allowed the second floor to directly overlook the first floor. The railing was opposite the door, allowing one to see the first floor directly from the railing.

The figure being thrown out created a graceful arc and crashed heavily onto the first-floor ground.

It was only at this moment that Sayuri finally realized it wasn't Takayuki who had returned, but a burglar.

The burglar was bewildered.

Anyone thrown from the second floor to the first wouldn't fare well.

But perhaps due to his good physical condition, he regained consciousness after a short daze. Then he witnessed a scene that he might never forget in his life.

Sayuri stepped on the railing of the second floor and jumped down, shouting as she did so.

This was a level of recklessness the burglar had never seen before.

In panic, he flipped over and dodged, then fled to the first-floor bathroom, locking the door behind him.

Unfortunately, the first-floor bathroom didn't have a window large enough for one person to escape through. He was trapped in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Sayuri had left a dent in the floor with her landing, yet she seemed unscathed.

As the burglar fled to the bathroom, Sayuri quickly caught up, punching and kicking until the flimsy wooden door of the bathroom was smashed through.

The burglar was scared out of his wits.

Originally prepared to counterattack, he intended to pull out his knife again.

But then Sayuri kicked the door open once more and delivered a hand chop to his face as he attempted to retaliate with the knife.

The rest of the story involves Sayuri panicking and calling the police, who promptly arrived.

Upon hearing the whole story, Takayuki's reaction was similar to that of the burglar.

He was dumbfounded.

Wow.

Did he raise a bodyguard who excelled in both literary and martial arts?

An electrical engineer and martial artist?

Takayuki couldn't help but look at the floor next to the living room sofa.

There was Sayuri's masterpiece, a depression about half the depth of a heel.

Takayuki's house had wooden floors, and not particularly hard ones at that. It wouldn't have been impossible to leave a dent if someone really tried.

But... this was a bit out of the ordinary.

Also...

Takayuki looked at the bathroom door thrown aside nearby.

There was a fist-sized hole in it.

Takayuki instinctively recalled a classic movie scene.

"Here's Johnny!"

He had thought Sayuri was a somewhat delicate tech girl.

He didn't expect her to be a martial arts master. The contrast was too great.

"Sayuri, are you a martial artist? Is electrical engineering just your side job?"

"No, no, no, I legitimately graduated from university. I'm not a martial artist, just... I've been learning self-defense techniques since I was young."

This had nothing to do with self-defense techniques at all.

Takayuki couldn't help but mock.

Sayuri shrank her neck. "Actually... my family runs a kendo dojo. My father is a kendo teacher, and he taught me these self-defense techniques."

Takayuki:...

What can I say?

I'm speechless now.

Takayuki just felt that the world was indeed quite strange.

He didn't expect that the first person he recruited to make circuit boards would also be skilled in martial arts.

How did he not notice before?

"Takayuki, you're not angry, are you?" Sayuri now hugged her legs tightly, curled up on the sofa. She only dared to look at Takayuki from the corner of her eye.

In front of Takayuki, she had always deliberately concealed her ability to fight.

She thought it wouldn't be good to show it.

But sometimes, things just happen unexpectedly.

Today, a burglar suddenly appeared.

Relying on her seemingly innate instinct, she didn't hesitate to beat him up.

It wasn't until the man was unconscious that Sayuri gradually came to her senses and remembered to call the police.

Oh no, she exposed herself. Would she be fired?

Sayuri suddenly felt very worried.
