Harry’s Chocolate Cake

Four days later, a visibly exhausted Felix dragged himself out of the basement, his eyes sporting dark circles, his beard unkempt, and his hair tangled.

"You finally emerged. I thought you'd become one with the basement," Lucifer remarked coolly.

Felix scoffed disdainfully. "You don't understand. The satisfaction of delving into magic is incomparable. Even Merlin himself would be engrossed and unable to tear himself away!"

After casting a quick glance around, he inquired, "Where's Harry?"

"He's been fixing things for people outside," Lucifer replied. "Four days ago, a woman's lawnmower broke down, and Harry went over to help. Word spread quickly, and now he's known as a little expert in the neighborhood."

Chuckling, Lucifer continued, "He somehow procured a set of repair tools, dressed up like a pro, and used magic to fix things around people's homes."

Felix was momentarily stunned before nodding. He casually produced a whole leg of lamb from the kitchen and handed it to Lucifer.

"Grill this for me and remember to turn it over."

"You've turned me, a demon, into a barbecue machine..." Lucifer grumbled.

Felix fell silent for a moment before turning to head upstairs. "Don't underestimate yourself so much. Oh, and boil some water for me!"

Observing Felix's retreating figure, Lucifer suddenly felt an urge to unleash a torrent of expletives. However, just as he was about to let loose, the door to Moonlight Castle swung open...

Half an hour later, Felix descended the stairs, feeling refreshed after a shower. Picking up the fragrant roasted lamb leg, he made his way to the dining table.

"Who was that at the door earlier?" he inquired.

Lucifer glanced at him, annoyance evident in his tone. "Who else but Harry? Did you think I'd let anyone else in?"

"What if you're like Calcifer and invite a cranky old lady into the castle for no reason?" Felix quipped with a smile.

"If we ever return to that scenario, I'll be sure to tell Sophie about your comment," Lucifer retorted cheerfully.

"You don't actually think Sophie is a formidable woman, do you? Well, I'll be sure to let her know," Felix teased as he popped a morsel of lamb into his mouth, eyeing Lucifer with a mischievous grin.

"Really?" Lucifer faltered for a moment, reconsidering his words. He hastily waved his hands. "Wait, no! It's probably best not to tell Sophie. My mistake!"

But even as he spoke, Lucifer couldn't shake the feeling that he was being roped into something.

"No, wait! You're just messing with me!!"

Amused by Lucifer's reaction, Felix chuckled.

Is that all?

Just then, the door creaked open, and Harry stood outside, clutching a cardboard box the size of a basketball.

Felix blinked in surprise, then glanced at Lucifer.

Lucifer nodded. "Yes, he came in, saw me grilling meat, and dashed out without a word..."

"Uncle Felix!" Harry greeted cheerfully as he entered, box in hand.

His eyes gleaming, he exclaimed, "I thought it would take you ages to emerge."

"Then I must be famished," Felix replied with a wave of his hand. "If you continue to embrace magic with such fervor, you may end up like this too."

"Of course!" Harry affirmed confidently.

"Maybe," Felix conceded with a smile. "But in my experience, even something as magical as magic can become mundane over time. People's perceptions dull, and it all becomes commonplace."

He shook his head, deciding to change the subject. "What's in the box?"

"Oh, right." Harry snapped back to attention, opening the box to reveal a chocolate cake.

"Uncle Felix, I've been helping fix things around the neighborhood and earned some tips!" Harry quickly recounted his recent activities with a hint of pride.

"So... is it your birthday?" Felix inquired, eyeing the cake and then Harry.

Harry shook his head eagerly. "No, my birthday was a few days ago. But I really wanted a cake, so..."

"This is from Murrell Cake Shop. Uncle Felix, you've got to try it," Harry urged. "It's a shame they didn't have chocolate mousse cake. Have you ever tried it? It's amazing."

Felix suddenly understood. Observing Harry eagerly opening the cake box, he couldn't help but smile helplessly.

"Looks good. I haven't tasted it yet."

"Then, when I save up enough money next time, we can make a reservation in advance!"

"Good."

...

Harry ate the cake in his left hand and the leg of lamb in his right hand, his mouth full of grease. Afterward, he raised his head and asked, "Uncle Felix, do you still want to go to the basement after dinner?"

"No," Felix shook his head and gestured with his hand to create a trajectory.

"I analyzed this symbol from Thales's manuscript, and it should represent moisture. Currently, it appears to be a component structure of magical texts such as [Storm] and [Sea]."

"So..." Harry imitated Felix's trajectory in the air with his hands.

"When you have a certain sensitivity to magical texts and their relative laws, you can sense some changes in the surrounding environment. Through it, I have a premonition that there will be a storm tonight."

Harry immediately understood what Felix was planning to do and became nervous. "So, are you going to become an Animagus tonight?"

Felix nodded. "After waiting for so many days, it's finally time."

Harry looked at the gloomy sky, feeling a little worried. Judging from the book, the process of becoming an Animagus is very dangerous and may even result in death or turning into a mindless beast...

After dinner, Harry cleaned up the leftovers, took the dishes to the kitchen, and began to clean up over and over again.

After a while, all the kitchen utensils were as clean as new.

Felix observed all this before turning away. He opened the door to the edge of the cliff.

At this moment, the sky was dark, and the heavy clouds seemed to descend upon the earth. The storm even blew the clothes on Felix's body.

Snap.

The tip of Felix's nose was moist, and large raindrops began to fall gradually.

Here we go!

Harry didn't know when he had stood inside the door, sitting on the steps of the entrance hall. Lucifer also brought a brazier and just climbed on.

What was even more unexpected was that Meteor also stood next to the door, looking at Felix outside.

"Can you see??" Lucifer glanced at the broom next to Harry in confusion. The broom dared not get too close to him for fear of being set on fire.

Coo, coo, coo—

Meteor's broom head nodded one after another, apparently agreeing.
