"What is this smoke?"

Two people looked at each other. Then realization hit them. There was a fire somewhere.

The two gang members took to the streets, and there they saw it. Their building was on fire.

Chaos erupted across the Refuge as fires suddenly sprang to life in multiple locations. The peaceful morning was shattered by shouts of alarm and the crackling of flames.

The Shadow Vipers had been caught off guard but rushed to battle the unexpected infernos engulfing their buildings, without wasting time. 

The reason was simple. Maynard would not like this, and when something like that happened, well, he was used to blaming someone and kill them.

At the warehouse on the eastern edge, Shadow Viper members formed a bucket brigade, desperately trying to douse the flames.

But no matter how much water they threw, the fire seemed to grow stronger, devouring everything in its path, water included.
