"Sooo… what's up Blakey? Usually you're stuck with Rubes most of the day, not like you to ask me out like this," Yang started, grinning rather casually as the two of them walked along one of the raised walkways littered around the campus- honestly, whoever designed Beacon must have been on something good because the academy layout was fucking insane in some places and seem purpose built to look cool without being super functional to anyone who couldn't jump three stories in the air and run up a vertical wall while carrying an entire bookbag and combat loadout. "Is it something about the Fang or-?"
"No- no… I… honestly, I've been trying to research the White Fang, but every time I sneak out at night Ruby drags me back to my bed with a Rosebud and- ugh. Nevermind," Blake shook her head, grimacing at the fact that, for the last week or so (ever since they'd gotten back from that fight at the docks… Blake still had trouble thinking about how Adam so cruelly decapitated Ruby) Ruby had been purposefully missing out on sleep in order to make sure Blake stayed in bed. Though… was it really missing out on sleep if Ruby didn't actually need to sleep? "It's… about Weiss, actually."
"Is she doing something stupid or is it about the fact that she's definitely super closeted?" Yang tilted her head, immediately clocking onto the main two problems that Weiss had. The first one was largely taken up now by studying too hard or getting really mad about messy places that weren't supposed to be messy or maybe trying to take the entire stock meatlover's pizza in the cafeteria at once and getting into a fight. The second… well. Weiss was definitely super closeted, super gay, and super useless in casual situations.
Like, say, that one time that Velvet tripped in the hall the other day and fell ass-up in front of Weiss and the heiress just stood there staring. Or that time earlier on in the first month where Yang had walked out of the shower forgetting that she wasn't at home for a moment and gave Weiss an eyeful… and instead of yelling, Yang's partner had simply stared, blushed, bled a little from the nose, and then passed out for a few seconds.
"It's the fact that she's a useless lesbian and I think it's starting to affect team cohesion," Blake deadpanned, sighing as she scratched at one cat ear while the other flicked in agitation, the black haired beauty, standing there dramatically for a moment (coattails fluttering in the breeze, just like Yang's) before shaking her head again and grimacing. "I haven't told Ruby yet because it's not really that noticeable, but haven't you noticed that our team maneuvers are weirdly off when Weiss is with either one of us, but it's fine when she's with Ruby?"
"I'm not wearing a full shirt, Blake. It'd be a crime to not show off the gals and the bod," Yang huffed, crossing her arms to highlight her bust against the tank top she wore, plus what was visible of her abs. Even with her thick black duster, the definition was real- when she wore her school uniform, it was very apparent that there were girls literally tripping over themselves to stare. First years, second years- hell, even a few third and fourth years stopped to look at Yang's biceps and boobs. Blake stared too, as she was doing now.
"... Yes, it would be. But at the same time… I'm pretty sure Weiss is going to go into spontaneous gay meltdown if she doesn't… do something about it," Blake shook her head once more, blushing slightly and trying not to stare too hard at Yang's chest- they weren't involved and… honestly, Blake didn't know if she wanted to be involved.
The sting of- of him … it was still too raw. Maybe one day but… not today.
"She is pretty repressed… and backed up. Should we tell Rubes- wait no, I refuse to let Ruby know about this," Yang hissed, sticking out her tongue and shaking the image from her mind of actually explaining anything sexual to her precious, beloved baby sister. "We're gonna have to handle this one together- as Weiss' partner and as… uh…"
"The one who educated Weiss on how not to be racist towards faunus," Blake offered dryly.
"That. We'll uhhh… convince her to…" Yang stopped, scratching her head as she furrowed her brow. "... Wait have we really just been talking this entire time about getting Weiss to jill off before she goes into full gay panic meltdown to the point that it tanks our Team scores?"
"Pretty much."
"... You know, I thought life was gonna get weird when I became a Huntress student, but I didn't think it'd involve this," Yang sighed, palming her face before slumping down slightly in defeat. "Okay. Okay- we can handle this. Emerald used to be as much of a useless lesbian as Weiss until she somehow got over her fat gay crush on CinCin and Neo at… some point? I hope? We can ask her how to deal with that shit."
"I thought you said it had to be the two of us?" Blake hummed, raising an eyebrow at Yang for a moment with some kind of mix of idle curiosity and teasing. "As Weiss' teacher and partner."
"... Yeah, but Weiss is like… down bad. We're gonna need extra help to get her to… y'know… stop being so repressed and gay?" Yang shrugged, then stopped by the low wall that acted as the walkway's railing, leaning against it and crossing her arms as she stared at Blake. "By the way- don't think I haven't noticed you staring too. Not that I mind, just… it's super obvious."
"Sorry. In my defense, you're very tall and it's easier to look down than it is to look up," Blake half defended, clearly not sorry at all as she very pointedly stared straight at Yang's boobs again. It was a nice view. Even if it didn't go anywhere… well. She could do worse things than stare at someone who very much put herself on display on purpose .
"Heh, yeah. This is a stupid conversation- let's… talk about something else. Like…" Yang pursed her lips, pondering the change of topic for a moment before turning to Blake and tilting her head. "Hey actually- what was that about trying to sneak out a bunch? Like, I get that I'm kind of a deep sleeper after living with Rubes and Cindy for the majority of my life… more or less… but what the fuck? Why were you trying sneak out and research the White Fang in the middle of the night?"
"Because it just- it wasn't sitting right with me, okay? The fact that Adam was willingly fighting alongside a human . A criminal human- Adam hates human criminals more than anything because he thinks that they're even more detestable and treacherous than regular humans. There's- there's gotta be something more going on. I know it," Blake explained, rubbing her arm and looking away as her ears drooped slightly. "The reports of Fang activity lately are… odd, too. There's so many Dust robberies, but almost nothing in terms of stealing food or general supplies- no thefts of weapons grade materials or anything. None of the usual MO with White Fang presence in an area. There haven't been a lot of protests or anything, or any riots or arsons or anything that was what the Fang used to do. They're planning something- something big. And… I need to know. So we can stop it."
"That explains a lot about what you've been doing with your free time," Yang deadpanned, sighing as she leaned forward and rested her elbows on her knees and looked Blake dead in the eye. "So your plan is to push yourself to the breaking point hunting down a bunch of people who might be planning something big, without telling anyone, anywhere, about some kind of criminal conspiracy that could affect the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of people?"
"I- it's not like that Yang! I'm the only one who can do this-!"
"Why?"
Blake… stopped.
Yang simply raised an eyebrow, lacing her fingers together as she watched Blake's face run through a gamut of emotions, settling on some kind of confusion at that simple question.
"What do you mean?"
"Why are you the only one who can do this? How come you can't tell Professor Goodwitch about this? Or Professor Ozpin? Hell, how come you couldn't tell us before you spent nearly a week and a half trying to sneak out- did you even tell Ruby why she had to stop you from sneaking out or did you just hiss like a cat before getting pinned and stuck because you're deathly afraid of corgis?" Yang asked, every single word driving into Blake's heart like a nail as she struck home seemingly without even trying.
"I- no- I mean- I'm not-! It has to be me because it's my responsibility! It's my fuck up! I have to do it- I'm the only one who knows Adam like that, the only one who knows how White Fang movements work- no one in the school would- would understand!" Blake almost shouted, barely keeping her voice down low enough so that the few people within earshot of the walkway wouldn't hear them. "No one else would be able to plan it all out…"
"Char Blackwood knew people in the White Fang, he's made no secret of it," Yang spoke up, mentioning one of their few faunus classmates. "Veridis in second year actually went to a few rallies as a kid. It's not your responsibility- or at least, even if you think it is, it's not yours to bear alone. We just said we should bring in more people to help deal with Weiss being a useless lesbian. What makes you think I'm going to let you run off on your own to try and deal with this whole White Fang mess by yourself?"
She shook her head, golden tresses catching the light of the sun as they flew about. "Nuh uh. I already tried to be the lone hero going off on my own once- and look where that got me. A torso full of scars, a sister turned half grimm, and more issues boiling in my head than you could possibly name. If you're going to go on this ridiculous search… I'm coming with you. And so is the rest of the team. I'll help, Weiss will help, and with Ruby there we're basically unstoppable."
Yang paused, then shrugged. "Oh, and Pennster can come too, really bring in the firepower."
"... I… fine. I don't like it… but fine," Blake sighed, chewing her lip before slumping in defeat as she accepted that Yang was… begrudgingly… right. "But… just us. Team RWBY… and Penny. It's… I don't think anyone else could… could keep up. Or would be able to blend in."
"Well, we could get Team CFVY and CMNE at least. Cinder'd jump at the chance to help out if she knew we were doing this, and Mercury could… probably persuade CFVY if they're around at the right time. Y'know. Since he's dating Yatsuhashi. And also since Team CFVY is friends with CMNE," Yang suggested dryly. "There's not really a high chance my sis' team wouldn't be able to go unseen when one of them is a trained assassin, one of them makes illusions, and the other makes people hallucinate."
"... what about Cinder?"
"There's no fucking way Cinder is actually stealthy and you fucking know it. Literally none of the three of us are stealthy on average unless Ruby's cheating with her powers- all of us have fire powers, all of us prefer overwhelming speed and force as a primary option, and all three of us have tempers to match," Yang huffed, crossing her arms. "... We're like a trio of dragon sisters."
She paused.
"... Dragon sisters… fuck- it was there the whole fucking time! Shit, I gotta tell Ruby and Cindy right fucking now!" Yang exclaimed, immediately dispelling the serious atmosphere previous and fumbling for her scroll as she jumped to her feet. "Fucking- I finally figured out a name for the three of us after seven fucking years!"
Blake sighed, palming her face. "Yang, you are ridiculous ."
"Yeah, I'm awesome. It's great."
"Sigh…"
