Three days later…
It was physical education class, and the students dressed in their athletic gear headed for the field.
Delilah and Annabelle went to the restroom because Anna felt pressed.
"Delilah, I missed you so much, you were not in school for two days," Anna chuckled.
Delilah grinned and shrugged, saying, "It feels good to be back."
Delilah had been at the hospital since she fainted two days ago, and Chen Xiao had her undergo a full check-up. She only returned to school today.
" So, are you alright? I mean that, are you feeling well now?" Anna probed and Delilah nodded.
" I am good…"
When the two girls reached the restroom, Anna eased herself and Delilah fixed her gaze on the mirror.
"Delilah, do you remember who took you to the infirmary three days ago?" Anna asked abruptly as she emerged from a cubicle in the toilet.
Delilah's brows creased, and she turned to Anna," Who?"
Anna pursed his lips for a while, her eyes peered at Delilah like she was observing her expression," Harrison Su…"
Silence….
Shock, confusion, happiness, fear were the expressions on Delilah's face," Harrison?"
" Yes…"
…
The field was a vast expanse of green, bordered by a running track and dotted with trees that offered patches of shade. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and chatter, punctuated by the rhythmic thud of a basketball bouncing on the court.
Delilah and Anna, the two girls, arrived at the field and found a bench far from the basketball court and away from the other girls. Anna, seemingly uninterested in the game, opened a book and began to read, while Delilah sat beside her, her mind lost in a swirling vortex of thoughts.
"Why did he help me?" she pondered, replaying what Anna said in her mind. "Did he remember me? Or was he just being nice?"
The question gnawed at her, leaving her restless and unable to focus. She glanced up at the sky, the vast blue canvas dotted with fluffy white clouds, but found no answers there.
She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the basketball heading towards her.
BAM! The ball hit someone, but it wasn't Delilah, it was another girl who was passing before them.
"Ahh!" the girl cried out, holding her head. Delilah and Anna were startled by the sudden noise, and when they looked up, they saw a girl on the ground sobbing while holding her head.
