Capítulo 2: First Job
"Steve Rogers, nice to meet you," the Captain America greeted me with an extended arm for a handshake. I took it with a smile, the man was polite and his energy just radiated positiveness.
"Superboy," I introduced myself. I was wearing a black Kryptonian armor for I knew the suit Superman wears is really the underwear for Kryptonians and even if no one else knows, I will always know!
"Oh, we are giving our superhero names? Um, I am Captain America," he stumbled, scratching his neck, embarrassed.
"Yes, I know who you are, nobody shouldn't know you are," I said, making the man even more embarrassed.
"Uhum," Coulson decided to jump in, likely to save his childhood hero from more embarrassment. "Welcome aboard, gentlemen." Captain America nodded as he shook the man's hand. Coulson was one second away from squealing in joy. Black Widow walked towards us, eyeing me suspiciously.
"We're ready to depart," she said, addressing Coulson while keeping an eye on me. "He wants you on the bridge."
"Right," Coulson said before he walked away, reluctantly.
"Agent Romanoff, nice to finally meet you," she said, extending her arm for Captain America who shook it. She did the same for me but I shrugged her off. She didn't seem bothered as she rolled with it and started small talk with Captain America. It was then Bruce Banner joined in. I left them to it and got inside the Helicarrier. It was magnificent, the best of what the world had to offer currently. Sure, Stark was a genius in his own rights and could build a better Helicarrier but not everyone was Tony Stark when it comes to engineering. As it rose to the sky, it was stable with little to no bumps that it gave an illusion it was staying still!
It was later on I received a message from an agent informing me Loki had been found and they were about to go after him. I was still in my suit so I following him to the hangar where Captain America and Black Widow were getting on, ready to depart.
"You joining us?" Captain America asked.
"Nah, you'll be meeting me there," I said as I slowly rose to the air. Captain America's brows rose in surprise.
"So you can fly?" he asked, astonished. He was used to many things but this wasn't among them.
"Among other things. Do try to keep up, I am quite fast," I said with a grin before flying out of the open hanger door. When I was some distance away from the Helicarrier, I immediately increased my speed to Mach 4, producing a sonic boom that was slightly on fire due to the friction.
I knew where Loki was without been told because I could hear him getting excited and doing his little performance so that he can get captured. Rounding up the scared party goers and forcing them to kneel before him as he used his illusions to intimidate them into behaving. As his little speech started, I crashed into him, shaking the city as we went underground for a mile. To say the trickster god was unconscious before he the ground would be an understatement. I had broken a few of his bones, he had internal bleeding and his organs had shifted. He coughed out blood in his unconscious state and as I used my x-ray vision to look at him, I could see his biology was starting to heal him. What would have been a fatal injury to a human for him would only knock him out with a few injuries that were already healing! Getting hold of him by the scruff of his neck and his scepter with my other hand, I flew out of the hole we made and towards the oncoming Quinjet. Natasha Romanoff opened the door for him and he unceremoniously threw the Frost giant inside and got in too.
"This needs to be secured, I can feel it trying to burrow into my mind," I said as I lifted the scepter. I knew it was the mind stone, an Infinity Stone quite dangerous in the hands of someone who knows how to use it.
"Fury, Loki's in custody, going back," Black Widow called it in as she turned the Quinjet and got ready to fly back. Just then, the Quinjet's systems went haywire for a second before a pompous voice came from the speakers.
"Leaving without saying goodbye, agent Romanoff? I'm hurt," Tony Stark said as he hacked our ride. He opened the jet's door and flew in with his suit, giving everyone a once over. "Have to say, I am terribly bummed I didn't get to punch his face in. Otherwise, good job everyone."
"Mr. Stark," Captain America greeted him somberly. Tony's visor slid up, exposing his face as he gave Captain America a once over once again. Black Widow shut the jet's door and picked up speed heading towards the Helicarrier as I sat next to Loki, trying to keep the Mind Stone from getting into my head. It was trying, oh, it was trying so very hard. But my mind proved to be a challenge to it that it did not deem the other three as important to mess with while I was around.
A few miles from where I got Loki, a storm was strangely gathering above the Quinjet and I knew Pointbreak was coming. I got up and propped the scepter in the luggage bin just as thunder boom and we all heard something bump on the roof of the Quinjet. Tony was aware enough to let his visor down as Captain America armed himself with his shield. Thor forced open the doors with minimum effort and got in, glared at everyone before his eyes landed on his unconscious brother. Tony came in with a straight punch but missed entirely as I had gotten hold of Thor and blasted us out of the Quinjet and onto the ground,
Thor groaned in pain as I had slammed him head first into a boulder which had turned to dust from the impact. I let go of him and flew out of Mjolnir's way as I could hear it whistling in the air, charging towards me. At the last minute, it changed from head first to its handle and Thor smoothly got hold of it. Angrily, he got up, locked onto me before blasting lightning towards me. I dodged out of the way before retaliating with lasers. Thor was very adept in hand to hand, training for millenniums in the art of war, no way am I beating him in throwing hands. I, however, have other modes of attack besides throwing hands. The lasers sent him onto his butt as his armor was singed. He hissed in pain before glaring at me.
I was not done, however, as my eyes turned red and I sent an even more powerful blast of lasers as thick as a grown man's thigh towards him. Thor's eyes widened in shock before using Mjolnir to block the blast. I have to say, Mjolnir was very well made if it could hold up against my lasers which were enough to evaporate steel in seconds. I groaned in pain as I increased the intensity of the lasers and Thor was starting to get pushed back. I could see him straining with all he got but he was slowly getting overpowered. His muscles twitched in strain as he looked around, trying to figure out how to escape. However, Ironman came down with heel smash, making Thor give out as he was buried into the ground. I almost cursed out as Tony was in the line of fire, moving my head in super speed just in time to not give the stupid genius an early death. However, the trees in the line of fire weren't as luck for even in the fraction of a second my lasers were still on before I shut them, they were going on half the speed of light but that was enough to devastate miles on end of trees. Fire was starting to spread, causing me to glare at the unapologetic Ironman.
"Detain him if you want, I'm going to stop the fire," I growled at him before taking to the sky.
With a bird's view of the devastation, I grew angrier at Stark's hot headedness. I used lasers at Thor because I knew he could take it. He only had third degree burns when a star washed over him, my lasers weren't as hot as a star yet. The most they could do was singe him, causing a burn or at worse injuring him lightly! But, Tony must have decided to jump into the fight in frustrations and hotheadedness!
Taking a deep breath in, I let out hurricane like winds out of my lungs and onto the fire that was starting to rage. Super breath mixed with freeze breath, a tool that is quite helpful in situations like this. Sure, the damage to the environment is quite high but it is a last resort when the devastation otherwise would be even more. The fires were put out before they were kindled as trees were uproots and frozen over in seconds. Flying along the devastated lands, I left behind ice till the very end, which was quite long! I was slightly out of breath because I kept on blowing nonstop and only now could I stop to take a deep breath in. Looking towards the Quinjet, I saw Captain America had joined in, Ironman's suit was banged up pretty badly and Thor had a bloody lip. They were all waiting for me so I flew over, landing in front of them quite loudly.
"You need to be aware of how to pick your fights, Mr. Stark, least you end up dead in your cockiness," I warned him. Tony looked away sheepishly. His adrenaline had wore off so he knew what he had just done was the most dangerous thing he had ever done!
"Well met, warrior. I am Thor Odinson, Crown Prince of Asgard and I am pleased to meet a warrior of your caliber in Midgard. What is your name?" Thor boisterously said, walking towards me with a warrior's handshake that I took.
"Superboy, good to see you're not hostile," I said and Thor became somber.
"Nay, I am here because my brother has closed the line and needs to be stopped. As I told your companions earlier on, you are all in grave danger the longer Loki stays with you," Thor stated.
