Capítulo 29: We All Never Saw This Coming

"Let me give you some milk." She opened her blouse, displaying her ever bountiful breasts.

Oh hell, no. I took a step back. "Miss Nao-"

"Come on, don't be shy." She giggled as she stepped towards me. "You know you want it."

"Wait." I placed my hand on her shoulders and gently pushed her back. "I don't think now's the time."

"What's wrong?" She frowned in concern.

"Its- It's nothing." How do I tell her that I'm suspicious of her motives? Is she just after casual sex or is she aiming for a ninja husband? Kakashi sensei did say that the older ladies aimed to get pregnant. And guess who let me cum inside?

"Oh." Her face fell and she pulled up her blouse. "I see. Now that you've got what you wanted, you want nothing to do with me.

"What?" Got what you wanted? Aren't you the one who offered it to me? "Of course not."

"Don't worry. I get it." She sniffed and quickly left the room. I stood there, frozen. What the heck just happened because I never saw this coming.

I paid for my ramen and walked home. I never knew a day would come where Miss Nao wanted to have sex with me and I'll refuse. If the past me could see the future me, I'm sure he'll want to assassinate me.

I stuck my key in the lock of the apartment and opened it with a click. I sighed before noticing an important detail. The lights were on. I'm sure I turned them off before leaving this morning. I crouched into readiness, my free hand gripping a kunai from my pouch.

"Yuji? Is that you?" Tenten's voice drifted from the kitchen and I heaved a sigh of relief. A twofold relief. First, because it wasn't an intruder and second, because I finally have a an acceptable hookup.

"Yeah." I walked in. "When did you get back?" She'd been on a long-term mission.

"What? Did you miss your favourite roommate?" She laughed as she exited the kitchen dressed in her trademark qipao-style blouse and dark pants. She had a dark green apron on.

"You're my only roommate." I laughed as I placed my bag of ramen on the table. "Good to see you."

"I'm happy to be back. And is that ramen?" She chuckled. "Put that in the pantry. I already made dinner."

I sniffed the air, enjoying the rich aroma. My stomach growled, probably sensing the first homemade meal in a while. "Thank the Lord."

Tenten pulled off her apron and tossed it onto the counter as I stowed the ramen away. The smell of the simmering spices wafted from the kitchen, and I found myself drawn back there by the promise of something far more appealing than the instant noodles I'd been eating. This has to be the best part of having a roommate.

"So, tell me about this mission of yours," I said as we settled at the small dining table, the dishes clinking softly as she served the food. It looked like a feast compared to my usual fare.

Tenten smiled, her eyes lighting up with the kind of fervor that only came from overcoming challenging tasks. Trust me, I've seen that same look in Sakura's eyes. "It was intense," she began, handing me a bowl filled with steaming stew. "We were tracking down a rogue ninja in the Land of Rivers. He was a dropout of the Kirigakure academy and leader of some kind of bandit group. Slippery fellow. He kept dodging us at every turn."

"That sounds frustrating," I said, digging into the meal. It was delicious, and I couldn't help but let out a satisfied hum of appreciation.

"It was, at first." She sighed. "You would think ninja drop outs would be weak, right? That's actually a myth. Since we learn fuinjutsu scripting at the academy, even drop outs can create their own jutsus. But it did teach me a lot about patience and strategy. Something you could stand to learn, eh?" She teased.

I laughed, nodding in agreement. "Maybe just a bit."

"How's it going with you?"

"Lukewarm." She raised an eyebrow at me. "It isn't all bad or all good, you know. Just lukewarm. I've been stuck on D-rank missions and training back here. Believe me, compared to your ghost chase, escorting a merchant through the market or finding lost pets in the village isn't quite as thrilling."

Tenten chuckled, spooning some stew into her mouth. "But those missions are important too, Yuji. They keep the village running smoothly."

"Is that what your sensei uses to convince you guys?"

She laughed. "Pretty much. What about you guys?"

"Kakashi sensei didn't even bother. He just made D ranks our only option."

"Now, that's smart."

"More like lazy. Yesterday, he had us sparring on a pond, focusing on chakra control and balance. I think I spent more time in the water than I did standing."

We continued chatting and before long, we were cooling off on the couch. "So," Tenten perked up. "Found any girlfriend yet?"

"When will I find the time for that?" I scoffed.

"That's because you're not trying."

"Trying? When I'm already exhausted?"

"That's no excuse, you know."

I paused. "Okay. Something's weird. Why are you so fixated on me getting a girlfriend?"

She sighed. "I don't think our arrangement will be going on anymore."

I sat up straight immediately.

"Don't worry. You can still stay here for free."

I sat dumbfounded. I definitely didn't see this coming. "What- What happened? Why?"

"Um. Sorry. I got in a relationship. I have a boyfriend now. Neji Hyuga. We're exclusive."

I sat there till midnight. What's going on? Why have I been receiving bad news after bad news? I eventually went to bed but my sleep surely wasn't smooth.

I thought it was all over, but the final blow landed when I was on a busy street with team seven. We were just on our way to the hokage tower for a D rank mission when a trio of ANBU surrounded me out of nowhere.

"Genin Yuji, you're under arrest for the murder of Hanako Nakamura."

I'm sure we all never saw that coming.

A/N: Arrested? What's going on? What do you mean? Well, if you can't wait to find out, this would be the perfect time for me to be shameless and say: For advance chapters, check out my patreon. P@treon.com/ ChakraLord. Replace the @ with a and close all spaces.
