"Tell me first," Gorje said with a tone of exasperation, "who did you offend this time?"
Jack was silence for a while. Finally, he let out a dry chuckle. "No one, really. I heard people calling him Black Master... Mr. Black."
Gorje's face stiffened immediately. His expression turned grim, and his voice lowered dangerously. "What did you just say? You provoked Black? The president of the Marin Municipal Council? Are you out of your mind?"
Jack let out a bitter laugh. "Uncle Gorje, trust me, I didn't go looking for trouble. Trouble found me. He came after me."
The corners of Gorje's mouth twitched as if he was suppressing a storm of curses. He inhaled deeply, calming himself. "And? Can it be reconciled? Or is this already spiraling out of control?"
