Capítulo 27: Critical hit
Kakashi wanted to intervine. But he stopped himself when he saw several of the Naruto clones were rushing towards Sasuke. He decided to watch for now. But if the situation got out of hand, then he would definitely intervene.

Critical hit
I was in a very tight spot. Exactly like me, Sasuke has encountered a pretty strong opponent. But the problem was Sasuke got beaten for some reason. He should have been able to handle him just well, but for some reason he got thrashed around until Kakashi went to save him.
And that left me alone to fend off my attackers.
I didn't remember Gato having such strong goons in his rank.
But it didn't matter now. Because I have decided to show only one of my cards rather than show all of them gradually. So I started to mould my Chakra for a paralysis seal.

By the time Kakashi decided to intervene, Itachi has already achieved his goal. Sasuke has now two two tomoe Sharingan spinning in his eyes. But still Itachi decided to stall Kakashi for a while to confirm his suspicion on the kunoichi in his brother's team.
As he intensified the assault by stressing the body of his victims to the absolute limit, the girl was forced to reveal more of her hidden moves, or to be exact, hidden move.
It was a paralysis sealing array which she conjured without any hand seals. Although Itachi noticed that she took her time to prepare the trap, but conjuring such a complex seal array was really impressive. Which made him even more suspicious. But he wasn't able to test her much longer as the girl ended the life of his puppet by beheading him with the chance she created.
When Itachi decided to retreat the sound of a huge explosion came from the forest. Itachi looked towards the direction where Kisame has gone to fight Zabuza. Itachi shook his head and went towards the fight.

Itachi reached the clearing full of water. He stayed on an intact tree to observe the fight that has been going on. He was really relieved when he saw an alive Kisame. Although he was missing an arm, but it was better than taking back a corpse. From the looks of Zabuza, she was mostly unharmed. But from her exhausted look, Itachi deducted that Kisame must have done a number on her Chakra reserves. All though there where some shreded skin in her arm, but there were no major injuries on her.
But in the other hand Kisame was full of cuts and briuses.
He was missing his left arm. Itachi knew that there should be some credibility to Zabuza's title, but he didn't expect the gap between them to be so vast. Kisame was no slouch. Even with his mangekyo, Itachi doubted that he could get unscathed when facing Kisame in a head on fight.
But this fight has a clear winner. That means, Zabuza might be even more dangerous than Konan or even Senju Tsunade.
Itachi however didn't want to find out about her true strength.
"Ha ! You are still a brute with that gigantic chakra of yours.
No technique, no fineness, nothing !
I thought after getting Samehada you would create some actual technique, but you are just letting the sword absorb opponent's chakra and then add it to your reserves.
Pathetic !
I thought you would give me a harder fight !"
Zabuza taunted Kisame.
Zabuza was seething in anger. He wasn't sure Samehada would be able to regenerate his whole arm.
But thinking about his fight, Kisame understood why Zabuza is called the greatest swordsman in the world.
He stood no chance against her sword skills.
Although, using ninjutsu, he created a trap and managed to steal more than half of his chakra along with giving her wounds with a single strike, he wasn't able to touch her after that. She brutally thrashed him around cutting up his shark bombs like sushi, until she got bored and cut off his arm.
Although, he didn't want Itachi to intervine, but now he was regretting telling him that.
Fortunately, his partner Itachi showed up in the right moment to save his ass.
"What the ! Another one ?" Zabuza got alerted. Although, she was not a sensor, but she was good at sensing other's presence by the standard of a Jonin . So she was pretty surprised when the pretty boy appeared out of nowhere without her noticing him.
"Kisame, we are leaving." Itachi said in an even tone.
"Yeah ! I know." Kisame cliqued his tongue.
Itachi had noticed how abnormal Zabuza's body was. She didn't have ridiculously large amount of chakra for someone with so much physical strength.
Even with so little remaining chakra, Zabuza wasn't exhausted physically. Itachi could see her muscle movements. And she was not exhausted at all.
But the same cannot be said for his mental condition. Her loss of Chakra, has made her mentally exhausted like she hasn't slept for weeks.
Itachi could probably kill her in that state. But he didn't want to take any risk.
Especially when Kakashi Hatake was so close to them. Kakashi was a borderline S rank shinobi. And God forbid if their reinforcement is Guy.
That's why Itachi decided to leave when they have perfect opportunity.
"Why do you think that I will let you go that easily ?" When Itachi was about to leave with Kisame Zabuza called back.
"We both know that we have our own reasons that we cannot fight a winning fight. You are mentally exhausted and I don't want to take any risk. I don't see the reason to fight when we are not even enemies right now." Itachi said smoothly.
Zabuza cliqued her tongue. She knew that Itachi had figured out that she was mentally exhausted. And Zabuza knew from the way he spoke, that he fights dirty. So she wasn't confident in defeating them both without any cost.
And besides she has another mission to complete. Mei will punish her if she again slacked off.
Zabuza shuddered when she remembered the spanking from Mei.
Even knowing that Mei is weaker, for some reason, Zabuza could never resist her.
So finally she let Kisame go and decided to do his own mission.
